. There’s no way you wouldn’t be heaping massive Praise onto the ownership had we not signed those 3 players.

He wouldn’t have shut up about it. Cunha and Mbuemo combined is 48 goal contributions last year in the same league - for two poor quality teams.

In total we scored 64 last season, as a team who decided defending wasn’t important.

There is no appeal of the ENIC model where it is today. Some of us just happen to be a bit more patient than others in the hope that we will eventually get to the point where we really compete at the top of the table.

Is it a pipe dream? Perhaps. But we also understand that getting there takes time; more time than some would like. Where we are all frustrated is that there doesn't appear to be a linear progression, something that would have been facilitated by having a world class football operations department. It's two steps forward one step back.

And for those that will ask "you're still patient after 25 years?" they should remember that the first 20 years we were continuously progressing. It's the last 4-5 years that we've been stuck and regressing somewhat. And to compound the frustration is the fact that the club is not transparent with it's strategy leading people to believe all kinds of things. Better communication of what we're trying to achieve and how we're planning to go about it would have gone a long way in getting some of the more vocal fans onboard.

In any case, mistakes have definitely been made and progress is slower than we want. We can whine and bitch about it all we want, but it's really out of our hands. So might as well try to enjoy the good moments and hope there will be more of them in the years to come.
Spot on, mate, spot on. Some of us, though, don't have the luxury of patience as time in not on our side.

And for some of us grumpy old men, whining and bitching does actually make us feel better, which does make a difference, even if doesn't in the greater scheme of things.

It's just that some of us remember the glory years and long for it's return.

You keep the dream alive, and don't worry about us grumpy old cunts, we've endured the horrors of the 90s. We hope to endure this period too!

I must add, when I say 'us' and 'we' I actually mean 'me'.

I severely doubt it mate. If Chelsea wanted Kudus they’d have him imo. Just like with Willian. They’d offer more money and Levy would shit his pants and run away.

This club has amazing potential to grow and be a dominant force but these owners are meek and mild and happy to accept where we are. I have no idea how any fan can look at the way we operate and be content. It is ludicrously pathetic.

I don’t know. Apparently his agency hates them because of Havertz or some shit

I don’t care tbh.

I agree on principle that they are just more committed to signing better players than we are

Lmao of course it’s not.

You’re a fucking melt mate. Mbuemo got 27 goals and assists in the league for a defensive team. That’s more than Odobert, Tel, Solanke and Kudus combined.

Cunha got 21. And they aren’t just numbers these guys, they’re footballers. The things Cunha can do with a football - he creates, he runs at players, he makes stuff happen. Footballers.

Yeah the real worry for them will be fitting in all their new attackers. What a shame.

You are literally just a shill for the ownership on here. It’s pathetic. I don’t think United will be great next season nor do I admire the way they’re ran, but if we signed Sesko, Cunha and Mbuemo you’d be dickriding ENIC for about twelve windows in a row.

Making out loan to buys for 30 year olds nobody wants and Kudus off the back of a dreadful season is a tip top window is the height of fucking gaslightery nonsense. Get a grip of yourself.
You absolutely lesbian.

Stanning for United and their quality signings but then saying you don’t think they’ll do great next season. What are they there for then? Their UNO skills?

Fans like you treat transfer windows like lottery tickets. You don’t expect things to improve but you want to be able to dream a little. You want the window to make you feel a certain way.
What’s unclear about it ?

Sesko through the middle cunha to the left of him and mbuemo to the right. They already play ferndades deep so need some legs next to him which is likely why they’re after baleba.

They may not all hit the ground running but there’s a clear plan for what they’re trying to do. There’s no way you wouldn’t be heaping massive Praise onto the ownership had we not signed those 3 players.
They finished above us last season. They’ve done a better job than us in the transfer window. You think they’ll finish above us, right?

They won’t be spectacular but they will absolutely be higher than us next season. How much would you like to stake on this?

Also - the reason I’m not totally sold is I don’t rate Amorim. That has nothing to do with the quality of their business.

I’d be fucking ecstatic signing Cunha and Mbeumo. Two players who would walk in to our eleven.

Other elements of their club are a shit show but they have brought in a few quality footballers. It’s not hard to grasp.

Clubs who have done more than us: Woolwich, Chelsea, Liverpool, City. Last years top 4.

Clubs who have done less than us: everyone else including, Villa, Newcastle, Forest, United…
Valid point ... though, Sunderland!

From the Athletic…not gonna happen. Sounds like we were just kicking the tyres.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Como attacking midfielder Nico Paz.

Spurs are considering a move for the 20-year-old as they try to add more creativity to their squad before the start of the season. But they have denied making a bid for the player, following reports in Italy on Thursday morning. Como have no intention of selling the Argentina international.

Paz shone at Como in Serie A last season after joining from Real Madrid. This summer Madrid decided against activating an €8million (£6.9m) buy-back clause for Paz, but they retain a €9m clause for 2026 and a €10m clause for 2027. Real Madrid, who believe in Paz’s potential but think he needs time to develop, can match an offer from any other club at any time.

Tottenham’s need for a creative midfielder was heightened by the news on Thursday that James Maddison will require surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, which will rule him out for much of this season.

Even before Maddison’s injury, Spurs tried to sign Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest for roughly £60m. Gibbs-White went on to sign a new contract at the City Ground.

Paz came through Madrid’s youth setup, scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists in 54 appearances for the club’s reserve team, Real Madrid Castilla. He made his first team debut in October 2023 in a Champions League game against Braga and went on to appear a further seven times for the side.

He moved to Como in August last year after Madrid accepted an offer in the region of €6m. He made 35 appearances for the club last season, recording six goals and nine assists as Como finished 10th in the Serie A table, following a 21-year absence from the top flight.

Ill give you credit for finally understanding that the transfer window is only a small part of success and that the manager, tactics, strategy, morale and coaching have a bigger impact on outcomes than who you bought last window.

We are starting to get this right so I would expect huge improvement.

Will we finish higher than Utd? 50/50 for me. Which nobody who is balls deep in the transfer narrative would argue

This all builds up to Grealish on loan on August 29th, we’ve seen this song and dance before. Maybe El Khannouss since he’s got a cheap relegation clause. But there’s no chance Levy sanctions a big-money move with this complex of a deal, the 50% sell-on and possible buy-back clause with Madrid involved.

We have a much better manager than we had last season, it’s hard to predict where we actually fall in the best of the rest category outside the top 4, but it’s still a possibility they come above us again yeah. Would have been nice if we had used the Europa win/ champs qualification as a springboard to try and separate us from the rest of that pack, but we don’t seem interested in doing that.

You think it’s a certainty we come above Utd? And are you arguing that we have had a better window so far than Utd ??
