Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Where have I said we haven’t spent money?
Well it weakens the force of your argument considerably. In the end we spend a lot of money so the fact that we’re reactive or ponderous doesn’t stop us getting a lot of business done.

It suggests that maybe the original claim was correct. You are more invested in Tottenham and follow every report on our transfers which makes them seem protracted or not work out. With other clubs you just view the headlines and the end result so they seem more decisive.

The difference is your investment.

Our recruitment is completely dictated by opportunistic deals.

That's why it's a mess.

If we identified who we needed, paid up within reason in terms of fees and wages we'd of done similar business to United by now.

We won't do it. We chose not to.

it's really looking like we're going to need the investments we've made in younger players the last few to bloom this year. i thought we'd reload and spend the cl money and resume our place in the top 6 but sadly it appears not to be. even if we do sign a couple more before the window closes they'll more than likely be a younger unproven players as that appears to be our recruitment strategy now. our only real hope is that we're good at it.

i like frank but if players like tel, odebert, bergval, sarr, etc.. don't light it up this year it will turn into a nuno-esque toxic slog very quickly, maybe even as quickly as next weekend.

The manager and the group of players he has deserve to be given the opportunity to show what they have got before a group of idiots go protest and let them know they don't think they are good enough before they've even seen them play a competitive match .
Hang on....Any protest would be against the ownership, not the players or the manager.

You're quite literally talking out of your arse in some desperate attempt to smear our supporters and protect who you really support yourself..... ..Daniel Levy

You really are utterly pathetic.

Uh oh the second tier transfer gimps are fighting over the El Khannouss link. Don’t know whose side I’m on but I do know one thing…

Bilal El Khannouss

this shit is so cringe it's beyond even football and more a statement on the shitty world we now live in. can't wait for this window to close. even talking about football at the pub is now just pulling out your phone and mispronouncing names of players you've never heard of or some bullshit about a big player who's barely heard of us. i hate this timeline so much

Crazy we’ve only sold 2 players this window.

One is Sonny

The other - Pierre-Emile Højbjerg
How could you forget the Josh Keeley blockbuster?

It really doesn’t. Spending money does not equal good, pro active recruitment that is driven by trying to get your top targets in early and trying to improve the team/squad above opportunistic deals.

Transfer fees have inflated exponentially over the last 10 years. Every single PL club have relatively been spending more money on transfers, not just Spurs.

Certain criteria triggering a retrospective fee makes potential sense.

But it also says "option to buy"..... Which makes zero sense.....

That the majority of fans and writers can't process the diff. between and meaning of the words "option" and "obligation" is a complete mind fuck! :wall:

Maybe the option to buy is if the criteria isn't met?
Not very clear at all but I suppose it's clear Gil won't be back with one year left on his contract

Agree, and both The EL win and finishing 17th in The EPL have to be acknowledged. One through celebration, which like every other Spurs fan I did. Then once I sobered up reality hit that we were shite in the league and lucky in a dumbed down EL comp and a major overhaul of our squad was needed for 25/26 in the hope of avoiding another crap EPL campaign. And you can't have an opinion on this unless you acknowledge we only avoided relegation because of 3 truly poor sides who clearly didn't belong in The EPL. And our current answer to that is Kudus and an 30 year old loanee.
We were never in danger of Relegation. If we was, then resting players for PL matches because of Europa would have stopped and we would have picked up points. We probably would not then have won the Europa but it was our secure position in the PL with no chance of qualifying for Europe that allowed that tactic. The tactics in the away Europa matches were different and had those been applied to some PL matches then we would not have conceded so many goals. However Ange knew he could continue with Angeball in the PL without danger of relegation.
