Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Caught up with my Dutch pal who supports PSV earlier. Apparently there's a fair bit of chatter going on between their fans that Joey Veerman will be off to the PL before the window closes. He reckons it'll be somewhere like Brentford, Brighton, Fulham...or Spurs.

Obviously he ain't ITK and neither am I, but thought I'd share.

Feels right up Levy's street the more I look at it, to be honest. He's 26yo, got experience in the CL and on the international stage, can play a variety of positions (6, 8 & 10)...but mainly you're looking at a 30 odd mil fee and wages round the 60k mark (he makes 30k pw at PSV).

Good player, I like him and I'd have him over Grealish and that McAtee lad. But does he move the needle? Not sure. Type of signing we should make for backups, not starters.

Man this is getting grim AF.

Is this the best we can do, really? We've had all damn summer and we've come to deliberate whether we prefer mc atee or el kouns?

Inexcusable. The transformation to mid table is well and truly completed.

Edit. I think given the shit show this window has turned out to be i think if we could somehow get savinho and grealish on loan then id snap ur hand off right now. Grealish given freedom could do very well for us at 10. He needs licence to do what he did best before pep beat it out of him.....expression. Pep turned him into a drone of a player who would end up doing the same move repeatedly and it was soul destroying to see. His ball retention is massively needed, he can actually keep the ball ffs and right now we lack that.
Savinho I like, he has great intent and is not afraid to go at the opposition and is one of those players that really backs themselves even if things aren't coming off. Not sure what he'd cost but I think hes one that frank could take up levels with playing time he has superstar potential.

McAtee would be a good signing if we also get an Eze or similar.

We needed someone in that 10 before Maddison’s injury - so only makes sense we now need two . . .

I actually think that a spoof gofundme page would be absolute humiliation for Levy & ENIC. Obviously it couldn’t fund a transfer but, sarcastically worded around our “poverty” it would be all over the media and cause a lot of red faces in the boardroom.
Funnily enough I suggested that exact idea to some of the guys behind CFT a few months back. But their focus was on more hard-hitting PR at the time. Don't think they see/understand the value in such stunt either, which is a shame as I know for a fact it'd have gotten the backing of a well-known maverick sports brand.

i tried to make one just now but the page asked for my phone-number, so i couldn't finish it cuz i don't know my own phone number by heart and my phone is in my car and my car is in my garage which is about 50 to 100 steps away .....so yeh

All well and good but Frank still has to perform. Hope he does well. For me i think poch or tuchel will be in charge 26/27. If it was me in charge id hire poch to stabilize us for a few seasons.
Can't see Tuchel agreeing to work with Levy.
The faint hope I'm clinging to is that Frank was hired as an intermediary sap to hold the Fort until some imminent take over is completed.
Somehow keep our under invested, wage butchered mess of a squad bumbling around mid table then the new people in charge can clear the decks and hire a more qualified coach to manage such a big club.

Some fans trying to talk themselves into McAtee being a good signing who at 22 has made 48 premier League appearances for a total of 2,200 mins so he has played equivalent of 24 full 90 minute games in PL. He might turn out to be a good player but he sure as shit ain't the player we need in our current position

It absolutely has the humiliation factor for a multi billion football club to have its own fans setting up a gofundme page. Obviously Levy would try to laugh it off but it would show him up and have the media all over it. One of worlds richest clubs fans are so fed up that they start a gofundme page.
Would it make a difference? I dunno with someone who has such thick skin, but it would cause significant embarrassment and raise the difficult question of “why” we’re always scrambling around at the end of a transfer window with glaring holes in the the squad to fill.
On a side note, a mate of mine once put an advert in the local paper advertising a monkey in need of an organ grinder with another mates number as the contact.
It was hilarious when the poor bloke saw it. He never did find out who did it, but it was a lot of fun watching him squirm and “investigate” the culprit
