Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Couldn’t agree more.

What’s most infuriating for me this window is the fact that it’s one of the most open windows in recent memory, yet we have still shown absolutely no ambition or initiative.

In previous windows the club would routinely leak out lines such as “there’s no movement in the window” or use excuses such as an international tournament is delaying deals etc etc.

There are no such excuses this summer. There are literally so many players available, in positions that we need to strengthen, that we should and CAN afford, but we have just not gone out and tried to get them, whilst we watch other PL clubs who are in the same financial bracket as us snap them all up.

It’s infuriating, shambolic and downright negligent from our ownership.

I just don’t think ENIC and indeed some Spurs fans have grasped this yet… we finished 17th last season, SEVENTEENTH. As in one spot above the fucking relegation zone.

Can you just IMAGINE if one of Woolwich, Liverpool, Chelsea finished 17th and they only brought in Kudus and a 30 year old Palhinha on loan? There would be absolute riots.

And it’s not only who we haven’t signed, it’s the useless swines that are still at the club stinking up the joint as they have been for years.

Davies, Gil, Bissouma, Solomon, Richarlison to name a few, how TF are these muppets still at the club, with almost zero tangible links on them going anywhere?
Richarlison is often tentatively linked with a move away, before we get the usual shut down of “Richy has no interest in a move away, he’s happy and comfortable at Spurs.” Well I’m sorry, but why don’t we start acting like a proper club for once and take that decision away from him. Just like Chelsea have with Jackson, tell him in no uncertain terms thanks mate but it’s time to go. If you stay you won’t play, simple as, so kindly fuck off.

I, like many other Spurs fans, am completely and utterly at the end of my tether with these absolute lying scoundrels running our football club.
You hit on the issue that’s at least half of the problem though; we can seemingly never shift anyone. I realize that sounds a little off, given that we literally just sold Son. But that list of players you have here isn’t something that a serious club allows to build. It’s a pure mismanagement of assets.

Then, you have players like Ben Davies. I love the guy, and he’s been a warrior for us. But really, he was second choice for this club ten years ago, and I guess we’re going to do it again.

Caught up with my Dutch pal who supports PSV earlier. Apparently there's a fair bit of chatter going on between their fans that Joey Veerman will be off to the PL before the window closes. He reckons it'll be somewhere like Brentford, Brighton, Fulham...or Spurs.

Obviously he ain't ITK and neither am I, but thought I'd share.

Feels right up Levy's street the more I look at it, to be honest. He's 26yo, got experience in the CL and on the international stage, can play a variety of positions (6, 8 & 10)...but mainly you're looking at a 30 odd mil fee and wages round the 60k mark (he makes 30k pw at PSV).

Good player, I like him and I'd have him over Grealish and that McAtee lad. But does he move the needle? Not sure. Type of signing we should make for backups, not starters.
£30K pw?

its really a mad world
i was just watching the highlights of manu vs Fiorentina
and it looked like they were the winners of that European final
with all the new signings and standing ovation stuff

Ashamed to say I thought this guy already played for Brighton

That's the company we keep now. Notice no mention of the top 6 ubs. Shocker.

Is it right that with players who’ve left or are injured in terms of last seasons goals & assists we are currently missing 80 ?

The players injured do have a history of being made of biscuits & our cover in the squad isn’t great . We are in a worse state than last season & unfortunately we have far too many players who are good “on their day “ & their day is generally 3 or 4 games a season

What a shower of shite

August 10th.

Because when it was July 10th, and the days had more sunlight hours, there was more hope than there is now, and as we move seamlessly towards the autumn equinox.

Levy and co need to enjoy the rest of summer, because it's going to get very cold and dark far sooner than they expected if they arent careful.

It's depressing reading for fans.

It's embarrassing for the club.

It's negligent from those in charge.

Definition of a shit-show.

In a land beyond beyond, in a world past hope and fear, I bid you genie now appear.

That was in a Sinbad film.

To say we need our own genie now is putting it mildly.

Time for this club to show it's not all froth. That night in Bilbao should have marked a glorious turning point..

I just read the expected Palace side today, and it’s scared the life out of me that I would genuinely take the majority of them over what we have available.

That’s the level we’re at. I’m not trying to create a hyperbolic statement, or make some sort of sensationalist headline.

That’s the reality.

Couldn't have said it better myself mate 100% agree with everything you have said!

Should also be rules about minimum wage to turnover ratio to protect the product and stop scammers like ENIC
This ratio of wages to turnover is rubbish. How do you think it affects players.
Agent to player. You have 3 offers Tottenham are offering the most money but Brentford and West Ham have a better ratio of wages to turnover and ended up higher in the PL last season. Thame the lower wages offer of West Ham or Brentford.
Or more likely, Tottenham are the Europa champions and have more potential for success and are offering the most money take their offer.
We have the 7th highest wages bill and Villa have only just overtaken us. Yes the other 5 are more attractive to players but not because of the stupid ratio.

El Khannous (21) , Akliouche (23), Elliot (22), Mcatee (22) and Paz (20) all fit into our young midfielder with potential mould.

Hard to tell who will become the best of those at this stage. I guess this is where Lange and his data becomes relevant and Levy with the chequebook.
