Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Couldn’t agree more.

What’s most infuriating for me this window is the fact that it’s one of the most open windows in recent memory, yet we have still shown absolutely no ambition or initiative.

In previous windows the club would routinely leak out lines such as “there’s no movement in the window” or use excuses such as an international tournament is delaying deals etc etc.

There are no such excuses this summer. There are literally so many players available, in positions that we need to strengthen, that we should and CAN afford, but we have just not gone out and tried to get them, whilst we watch other PL clubs who are in the same financial bracket as us snap them all up.

It’s infuriating, shambolic and downright negligent from our ownership.

I just don’t think ENIC and indeed some Spurs fans have grasped this yet… we finished 17th last season, SEVENTEENTH. As in one spot above the fucking relegation zone.

Can you just IMAGINE if one of Woolwich, Liverpool, Chelsea finished 17th and they only brought in Kudus and a 30 year old Palhinha on loan? There would be absolute riots.

And it’s not only who we haven’t signed, it’s the useless swines that are still at the club stinking up the joint as they have been for years.

Davies, Gil, Bissouma, Solomon, Richarlison to name a few, how TF are these muppets still at the club, with almost zero tangible links on them going anywhere?
Richarlison is often tentatively linked with a move away, before we get the usual shut down of “Richy has no interest in a move away, he’s happy and comfortable at Spurs.” Well I’m sorry, but why don’t we start acting like a proper club for once and take that decision away from him. Just like Chelsea have with Jackson, tell him in no uncertain terms thanks mate but it’s time to go. If you stay you won’t play, simple as, so kindly fuck off.

I, like many other Spurs fans, am completely and utterly at the end of my tether with these absolute lying scoundrels running our football club.
I fully expect this Tottenham team, to be competing with the likes of Frank's previous team below or around mid table.
Winning the EL has not opened a window to a new dawn, instead it's given levy the opportunity to reel in wages to an all time low.

Morgan Gibbs-White AND Veerman would've been solid business. Them two plus Gallagher would've been spectacular, transformative type business. Especially if we'd also shifted Biss and Rodders.

Veerman/Archie - Gallagher/Sarr/Bergvall - MGW/Madders...imagine them midfield options and how confident you'd feel about a top 4 finish, making the CL last 16/quarters and winning the FA Cup.

But yeah you're looking at a spend of circa 150mil and MGW & Gallagher would've asked over 100k pw...well over in the CG's case. While selling Biss & Bent only recoups 40ish mil.

And we are so poor, so very poor.

Really don’t get how they’ve analyzed Biss and Bentancur and decided to keep either

This ratio of wages to turnover is rubbish. How do you think it affects players.
Agent to player. You have 3 offers Tottenham are offering the most money but Brentford and West Ham have a better ratio of wages to turnover and ended up higher in the PL last season. Thame the lower wages offer of West Ham or Brentford.
Or more likely, Tottenham are the Europa champions and have more potential for success and are offering the most money take their offer.
We have the 7th highest wages bill and Villa have only just overtaken us. Yes the other 5 are more attractive to players but not because of the stupid ratio.
The wage bill isn’t a barrier to players choosing us over West Ham, but it’s a clear sign of the complete lack of ambition.

I’m not really sure we’re talking about the same thing mate

How could anyone miss it, it is posted relentlessly. We did win the Europa cup as well. The reason we are in this mess is the injuries to Kula and Maddison. I do think we will get someone in as the number 10 but from all the options mentioned on here none fill me with any real hope that they are any better than either Kula or Maddison.
Wtf, even without those injuries we needed depth and quality in those positions along with others.
We have gone from a top four side of a few years ago to this a mid table and or below.
The negligence of the recruitment is shocking and should be evident to all with no excuses.

El Khannous (21) , Akliouche (23), Elliot (22), Mcatee (22) and Paz (20) all fit into our young midfielder with potential mould.

Hard to tell who will become the best of those at this stage. I guess this is where Lange and his data becomes relevant and Levy with the chequebook.

Macarena is the least experienced. Billy Elliot is the least talented. El Khannous is the least productive.

So they’ll probably manage to get one of those 3.

I think it's stupid even looking forward to this season now. Levy has once again proved that he doesn't have the minerals to compete.

There was nothing stopping us from spending 300m and having a similar window to United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Woolwich. But once against we've sat still and let the gap get wider.

Frank has been give no chance at all. We already know that his pragmatic style will not be overly popular within the stadium so he needs results quick to get the crowd onside. And Levy has screwed him.

It's going to be a horrible long season and I'm dreading it already.

To be honest, i think that is the best solution. Kudus and Sarr to deputise as No.10s until Kulusevski is fit.

On the wings, Johnson and Tel on each flank. With Odobert as a rotation cover that can play both sides.

If Frank wants to assess Manor Solomon, then he use the period up to January to assess him before making the decision to sell or keep him. Due to the injury situation, there are minutes available for Solomon off the bench and occasional League cup start.
That summary just shows what a complete mess this squad has now become .

Unacceptable for a club of our size

Every single youth talent going out on loan but Woolwich could potentially first team a 15 year old.
Our youth system is as broken as our transfers.
Nah, according to the club management and some fans, our youngsters are never good enough for us to start games and play in the first team. They are both not ready to face Premier league opponents and our first team squad is soooo good they couldn't displace any of them. We are just waiting for them to sign a longer contract and then sell them. Alfie Devine wouldn't play for us I reckoned and be sold in the coming 1-2 seasons.

Need to move a few players like Richy on asap. Take the hit on the money, even get them out on loan and behave like the big boys and sort the squad out. At the moment I wouldn’t put it past the club to have players like him and Bissouma until the end of their contracts and miss out on fees altogether or even have an Aurier or Doherty situation and have to cut them losses for nothing.

I think it is a reason why we haven’t brought as many in. We just aren’t ruthless enough getting players out because levy doesn’t want to lose out on money now when it’s better to sell them and then end up losing it any way. We have to remember that our squad building for most of the last ten years is absolutely dreadful.

The politics of this club mean it’s almost impossible for a youngster to break through, because we are always clogged with underperforming purchases made by various members of the exec board, justifying their roles.

Who signed Tel? Why is here and why is whoever recommended him also here

Define 'idiots'....there are so many to choose from at any given game mostly fueled by (hic) alcohol 🍸.

My frustration with the protests is in regard to the application of them. Direct it at the Board not the players ffs. The protests are becoming a barometer on how we are playing and based on results therefore affecting the players more than their intended target. Personally I'd (ideally) prefer them to be held en mass outside the ground prior to kick off and again after full time.

Protests at half time are unrealistic due to the fire drill (or dash for a bevy) that occurs every matchday commencing circa the 30th minute.

Add to that the protesters are generally scattered in smaller groupings around the stadium and can look sporadic and less vociferous than they would if they were all gathered in the same location.

A further negative is the enthusiasm within the protests fluctuates in tandem with team performance i.e. if we're on a run of wins the noise dies down, if we are on a bad run and stinking the place out the temperature rises and no Spurs fan is going to wish for that are they?

Good points and the protests last year seemed to be well organised and directed in the right direction.

I just think that the temperature is getting turned up a lot right now and it risks starting the season off with a very bad vibe before we have even kicked a ball.

So your ok that we currently have no number 10?

You’re ok with Tel and Odobert as our only left wing/forward options (please don’t come back with the BJ option, we all know he’s shit on the left)?

You’re ok with us finishing 17th and so far only buying a winger and an aged, slow DMF, whilst losing Maddison and Son?

You’re ok with the apparent lack of planning and procrastination that goes on around our recruitment (or lack thereof) ?

Of course you are, probably wear beige shirts as well.

I actually have a pretty fucking amazing selection of hawaiian shirts ill have you know.

You seem to be obsessed with putting words into my mouth.

I never said i was OK with any of that in the way you are making out, but we lost maddison 1 week ago, and I think we will get a number 10 in yes.

Odobert and Tel, im not 100% ok but im also going to reserve a tiny bit of judgement until I see how they do in our new system.

I have as much of an insight into our recruitment as you do..... you project your feelings of discomfort about it how you choose as do I.

I am just not someone who gets this emotional about transfers.
