Need to move a few players like Richy on asap. Take the hit on the money, even get them out on loan and behave like the big boys and sort the squad out. At the moment I wouldn’t put it past the club to have players like him and Bissouma until the end of their contracts and miss out on fees altogether or even have an Aurier or Doherty situation and have to cut them losses for nothing.

I think it is a reason why we haven’t brought as many in. We just aren’t ruthless enough getting players out because levy doesn’t want to lose out on money now when it’s better to sell them and then end up losing it any way. We have to remember that our squad building for most of the last ten years is absolutely dreadful.

I think a wider issue is that there is no connection at the top of the club between player value and success.

When we had the Poch squad doing well the likes of Dier and Dele had huge valuations, you think in this team they would be anywhere near that, we’d be lucky to get £30-40m for each of them. Then look at likes of Liverpool with £40-50m price tags for Elliot which they will probably get. I mean even Romero who is an elite defender and we getting crap offers for him.

Players in a good team will appreciate, players in a mediocre team will lose value. So going cheap loses money but they can’t figure that out for some reason.

I agree with the sentiment that we aren't doing enough to bring through our youth players and particularly think it makes no sense to be loaning out Donley off the back of a good L1 loan when we don't currently have a #10, but I would be willing to put a substantial amount of money that Dowman doesn't play any meaningful minutes for Woolwich this season, they've thrown him into a couple of friendlies against weakened teams and he's done alright winning a couple of pens, it's complete conjecture and hyperbole to claim he is now first-team ready. Plenty of players at every club in the PL get minutes through pre-season and are never seen once competitive fixtures start.

Yeah but in recent years Saka, Nwaneri and Lewis Kelly have all made their way into the squad and first team aged 16 or 17

Moore and Donley could definitely have stayed with us this season especially considering how lacking we are in creativity and something different in attack.

Good points and the protests last year seemed to be well organised and directed in the right direction.

I just think that the temperature is getting turned up a lot right now and it risks starting the season off with a very bad vibe before we have even kicked a ball.
The Board are reliant on the fact that most of the home support will concentrate on getting behind the team but a bad start combined with an unproductive window is a sure way to kick start the growing unrest towards the ownership and propel any brief fillip Levy may have felt over last season's trophy success 🏆 into the ether.

PS....In an attempt to balance things up I can attest to hearing support for our ownership on numerous occasions at games in the past to the sounds of "We want you to stay".........from the away end.

If you really did bid 60m for MGW, it’s really not that hard to reach the decision to use that money on this kid

Play him or Kudus at the 10 and the other RW. It really won’t matter, they will float around different positions and figure it out.

Yeah he is class, we should be doing that deal all day long. He would be our best attacking player instantly and he has the athleticism to thrive in the Prem.

We won’t though, we never do. It will be some 3rd rate plodder with a dubious injury record.

Maybe Solanke will take the money and go to Saudi if Richy won't. God knows no other PL club would pay us anywhere near what we paid for him. Another 40m loss incoming.

Not this season..

Levy is done unless things change significantly in the next few weeks.

The clamour will be relentless for a change of ownership. He has completely boxed himself in and he would be more than stupid not to recognise it.

I'm not saying I want to see change, but suitors won't be hard to find.

Huge 3 weeks ahead, and even by this time next week, it might already start to look ugly

We have always had goalscorers, even last season to an extent. Go a goal down this season, and it's already difficult to see how we retrieve the deficit.

A striker and at least 2 midfielders are nearly essential.

What I REALLY worry about at this point is panic stations setting in and us blowing 80-90m on McAtee & Elliot or other similar players that don’t really change the fortune of our side.

Then when Levy does his next interview with Neville he can continue to talk about net spend on transfers but ignoring:-

A) Our net spend is so high because we can’t sell
B) We’re spending lots but on mediocre players, our scouting is pretty poor
C) Part of the reason B is happening is that we’re not particularly effective in the market early doors and end up panicking.
D) Our wage restrictions are prohibiting the type of quality we need

Strategically we’re a fucking mess this window.
Lange is turning into a parody. I think when the dust settles on this generation, Lange will be the biggest joker ever involved with this club.

He can't even sell players now

It's gonna be a grealish loan I bet

Negligence really because its the cheap option again and his numbers have been poor so I don't see us dramatically improving as a whole. To me this is like signing solanke or rich to replace kane. Two of our best players ever leave and we don't get adequate replacements

Yes but it is not important to players we are interested in. If it was Kudus would not transfer from a team with a higher ratio to the team with the worst. Frank would not come from a team with a better ratio to one that is the worst. The important table is the one showing total wages paid where we are 7th. We are not competing with the likes of Chelsea on wages and despite our Europa league win, we are not competing with them on trophies or top 4 prospects. We need to focus in getting competitive with them on trophies top teams and not worrying about a wages to turnover table. It will not happen overnight but we start the season without a recognised playmaker which I am very unhappy about.

A bad start will turn things toxic very quickly im sure, especially with some important positions still needing to be filled.

But getting people all riled up before the first game of the season, im not for it.

You think it won't trickle into the stands, groans with a bad pass etc.....

It smacks to me of self importance and using whatever these groups can to fit their agenda.

Not sure.

Who is definitively better than Grealish? I am not a fan of the bloke and think it's 50:60 on whether he would be a success but if Frank is keen, and the player wants the challenge....

Quite how the club have allowed it to get to this stage God knows.

What do our scouts/recruitment do to earn their corn FFS?

So 6 days before the season starts we have effectively lost Son and Maddison (for the season) and bought Kudas with Paulinha on loan. We finished 17th and are in a worse position now than we were in January. In terms of incompetence and given the differing circumstances its 2018 levels
