Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Has anyone noticed that this year is like the previous one. Other teams make offers for players but we closely monitor or are watching until they are gone and then we scramble about for what’s left. Cheap loans. Frank obviously believed Levy when he said we would be involved in winning the premiership and the Champions League. Bet he wishes he’d stayed where he was. Nothing changes, a joke of a club.

Not this season..

Levy is done unless things change significantly in the next few weeks.

The clamour will be relentless for a change of ownership. He has completely boxed himself in and he would be more than stupid not to recognise it.

I'm not saying I want to see change, but suitors won't be hard to find.

Huge 3 weeks ahead, and even by this time next week, it might already start to look ugly

We have always had goalscorers, even last season to an extent. Go a goal down this season, and it's already difficult to see how we retrieve the deficit.

A striker and at least 2 midfielders are nearly essential.
Unsure what you mean by 'not this season' Levy has been effectively 'done' long before this season started and my reference to him feeling he may be given some respite for the trophy win is conjecture about how it sits in the figment of his imagination.

Agree it could get ugly or go quiet, the pendulum swing will be determined (as always) by results. One thing that will not change is the ownership (unless the price is right) because the person at the helm has the skin of a pachyderm.

8th? No wonder you are called Doom_Spur Doom_Spur

I'm thinking of a sticking a wedge on relegation at 100-1. Did it last year and got my stake back around 5 games before the end of the season so almost no risk and could have made a small profit at one point.

Trying to talk myself out of going too large.

I think there will be a solid 4 or 5 teams worse than us but thats besides the point.

4 competitions incoming and we're not equipped in numbers nor quality to have a go in even 1 of those.

We will probably buy a couple of players but they will be cheap or overpriced and not really improve us at all. We will then be told we've spent loads but its mostly all been wasted.

Don’t bet myself. But, if you stuck £100 at 100-1 that is £10k should the worst happen.

Plus a possibly upside, for pressuring execs, it might half the odds after! As 100-1 is generous given that Sunderland are having a go and if they and/or another get it right and we stink again…

You could go see all our Championship away games with your money, as I think you retired (?), or a nice cruise or Warner Holidays!

Somethings definitely changed over the last 18 months or so

They've always been a bit shit at recruitment and have generally given off the impression that football isn't at the top of their priorities list but it's gotten much worse lately

They just don't seem to give a fuck , not a single one

What the hell is going on?

Yep. Retired.

£10k would be a nice little bonus to the pension.

I can only assume it's strategy , and awful one but a strategy nonetheless.

Technically we've paid a lot of money the last few years for young and very young players
Sarr
Bergvall
Gray
Spence (kinda)
Udogie
Vdv
Odobert
Tel
Yang
Takai
Vuskovic
Johnson

What is that, like a quarter billion on kids? Maybe now they've just said that's it, higher a coach to make it work
