Watched lots of Savinha last season and listen quite a bit to LB, who's a city youtuber (he's live now freaking out about it, total disbelief. He's fuming. lol).

Sav played both flanks for pep, but better on right (majority of time there).

Not scoring as much as he should have has been the only real gripe city fans seem to have had.

Saw that too, but his attacking threat is undeniable and persistent.

Unstoppable at unlocking and getting in behind when he's feeling it.

Anyway, let's see where this goes.

For me, top wingers and 10s need to be able to create opportunities with the ball at their feet - dribble or pass or both. Savinho can do that.

While I would like to see them also buy a more conventional lock picking 10, having another tricky attacker like Savinho might allow Frank to deploy a more an industrious midfield. Frank likes a quick launch in transition though. Maybe a nice opportunity for Bergvall from a deeper position.

Going on from my post above, I think the lock picking passer in how Frank sets up needs to be more of a deep lying playmaker. The quarterback type. I'm expecting us to setup a lot in a mid block or low block and play on the counter. You need a good long range passer to hit your forward targets. Bergvall might be the closest we have.

Been used there forr France under 21s .

Also, iirc his goals for us have typically come form central areas.

Why I've stuck him there in my teams a few times.

Definitely think he's got goals in him from 10.

i don't think we can make any optimistic assumptions at this point. i think frank is miles better than ange but if we're honestly assessing the situation there's no obvious source of goals yet and we're returning the same defense that's given up over 60 goals each of the last two seasons. again, ange was horrific but those claiming our defense is going to be amongst the best in the league are just wishing at this point and i don't see anyone claiming our attack will be anything but tepid.

What's so galling is we have all the elements to be successful. Best stadium in the world, best training facilities. We have a massive fanbase, not the biggest but massive worldwide. We are in London, a desirable City. The ninth richest club in the world. It's so surreal, and feels intentional that we are so handicapped when we are not. It just defies all logic and sense.
