Weird one isn’t it? He’s a left footed RW cut inside type, not a 10 at all?

I think he'd could make the switch to 10. Fantastic touch, spatial awareness, great pass making ability and his ball carrying is top bracket. Maybe more likely to be kudus moving to 10 though.

I really really hope this one is true. Forget his relatively poor stats on goals and assist. He is genuinely a player that could become elite, the talent is there in abundance.

For me, this kid has it and will bring alot of what we're missing.

Love the thinking here...bit to much desperation being made for 'we need a 10 or I'm going to spit my dummy out '
Bit like the fascination for ' we need a dm or I'm.going to spit my dummy out a few years ago.
Players adapt to a coaches system and frank works it very well ..
Good signing if levy don't penny pinch and negotiate till Xmas.

I've said previously that if we're going to sit deep and be really solid it only works IF you have offensive player that frighten the opposition. Otherwise you will be penned in like sheep for most of the match as they push on due to ur lack of threat.
Savinho 100% helps add that. He and kudus on the transition is alot for opposition to tailor for especially if they do play on opposite wings as im now thinking having thought about it and woken up abit.
I think if he signs, he will become the star of the team over the next couple of seasons.

Still leaves the question, do we get a traditional 10 still?
Im not sure there's many at all with the ability and skillset that most are hoping for. In fact I can think of 4 only.

Eze
Simons
Akliouche
Damsgaard

Id throw everything we got at one of the first 2.

I don't think Savio is that good. Going from Son to Savio as our long-term replacement is such a big downgrade I can't even put it into words...
This is such a bad take. I can agree if you say we should go for more established player for Sonny replacement. But to say Savinho is not good is like saying you never watched him really well.

Savinho is just 21.
11 goal contribution in his first PL season last season . At Girona , he carried them single handedly into CL finish which was an impossible dream for such a team. He was devastating at Girona.

No one can say he will eventually have Sons numbers. But Savinho at 21 has already above Sonny at 21.

Imo, at this stage of market, Savinho would be an incredible signing.

So many weird things about the last 12 hours.

Frank’s interview and apparent sly dig at Lange, and comments along the lines of ‘if I want x then we get x at Brentford’

Then at midnight, we get a random Savinho link, albeit clearly quite concrete but the line used by that Romano chappy was ‘Frank indicated Savinho as key target’ - which feels a weird thing to add, especially after those Frank quotes . . . .

Let’s see how this plays out, but I’m scared to death it’s a PR move.

I watched him last season. He’s another Doku, with a bit more directness to him. All bark, no bite type of player. The only thing he has going for him is that his crossing is quite decent, which can unlock Solanke. We need a lethal LW who has some directness in him, and Savio is not it, because he’s not lethal enough. If we knew we were going for this sort of player, then why the fuck didn’t we go for Cunha in the first place?

Savinho and a 10 could really transform our season. Hopefully can get it done before the Burnley game.
