Pal, this isn't the club waking up or following their data-led approach or Thomas Frank indicating X as the ideal player.

It's literally Lange & co phoning round other clubs to see who they'd be happy to shift, then when a name is decent enough, that the fee & wages are acceptable re our WTR, and that there's potential resale value...we're in.

Its mad how we all joke about how we don't want to do a Leeds but its now its the year 2025, Spurs have just won the EL and are looking forward to the season at our new World Class Sports Arena and guess what, we are competing with the likes of newly promoted Leeds for signings!!!! :levyhands:

I don't see that under Frank. We require our wingers to be reliable outballs and to make things happen on their own. Kudus and Savinho do this. Odobert has potential to get there eventually.

I think Johnson gets exposed under Frank and becomes a bit part player very quickly.

I think the plan is to move Kudus to the 10, to use his ability to drive with the ball and muscle off people (Villa use Morgan Rogers in a similar way) hopefully they buy El Khannouss too.

Johnson is an eyesore but that ability to time runs/find space is a skill in and of itself.

If it was so easy Any of the other wingers should have been able to do it. I think he eventually moves on, but not right now.
 
Bringing things back down to earth abit......if we sign savinho for 70m we're not buying a 10 aswell are we? Seems unlikely.

Johnson/kudus/savinho?

Why would we move Johnson on?

He's not pretty but you can't deny the end product.

23 goals and 18 assists for us in 85 games is hardly horrendous.

He's an enigma as he looks bang average but always seems to pop up in the right places.

I'm not a fan but can see that of all the shite we have to get rid of, he's not one of them.
