Then at midnight, we get a random Savinho link, albeit clearly quite concrete but the line used by that Romano chappy was ‘Frank indicated Savinho as key target’ - which feels a weird thing to add, especially after those Frank quotes . . . .

Let’s see how this plays out, but I’m scared to death it’s a PR move.

PR move or a play from Frank to test the skills of the club. Perhaps he’s spoken to his agent and knows he’s interested and leaked it

One of the "ITKs" on the other site is speculating that the possibility of Savinho may have come up when we were discussing the Grealish situation with shitty.
For all the obsession with data-driven scouting etc, sometimes opportunities just occur when clubs speak directly with each other.
As JDefoe JDefoe says, shitty have a HG problem. Bobb is HG and fit again, and Pep may prefer Doku to Savinho as the other out & out winger where squad registration is tight.
If so, the "shitty don't really want to sell" is theatre for their fans. We shall see.
There were lots of rumours Levy wanted Rodrygo to replace Son. If he doesn't want to join us, the younger Savinho, only 21 years old but with a full season already adapting to the PL, would be an excellent signing for our left flank.
Asking shitty about Grealish, and signing Savinho instead, would be fantastic.

Not for me. The data, the eye test and the 8 assists without being a lock to start, all tell me that was a very encouraging start to life in the PL for a 20 year old South American,

He was better than Doku by a mile and shit loads less frustrating

He's not pretty but you can't deny the end product.

23 goals and 18 assists for us in 85 games is hardly horrendous.

He's an enigma as he looks bang average but always seems to pop up in the right places.

I'm not a fan but can see that of all the shite we have to get rid of, he's not one of them.

He doesn't press well, doesn't track back, doesn't help progress the ball forward and doesn't take on his man. He is good at getting on the end of low crosses and pull backs, but he is less suited to Frank's system.
