Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

M’y best guess would be because he’s a 29yo has been Wankhorn who’s spent most of the last two years tripping over his own feet.
B-C: I thought you'd be relishing the thought of Moyes insisting Grealish does lots of "Scottish running" to get fit, the training regime that van Persie was so critical of.

More importantly, if we went fishing for Grealish and hauled in Savinho instead, would you be happy?

This is why you are one of the top posters on here mate. Always come with the facts!

(And yes I know he’s not going to shag me)
Am I one of the top posters on here ?

Cole Palmer was a fringe player at City and how he’s one of the best players in the PL at Chelsea. Not every players circumstances are the same.
Fair enough.

But Cole Palmer went to Chelsea, a club with real ambition and the trophies to show for it. He also has had proper elite talent next to him. Still gotta do the business, but easier context for him there than for McAtee here.

Bilal might turn into something, but the situation we're in (and I ain't just talking about Maddison's injury), he should not even be an afterthought for us. He's a kid who's not even doing that great at Leicester, he should be lucky already to get a move to a Fulham or Brentford.

MGW just signed a new contract .. he’s not going anywhere this summer.
If a club went in and agreed a deal with Forest then he'd be off, he signed a 1 year extension committing himself there for 3 years, he still wants out but did the smart thing of giving in to Marinakis just enough that the big man felt like he got a win.

But I doubt Marinakis will receive an offer sufficient to make him back down so ultimately you're right, and if he did it certainly won't be from us, as we're cheap af and also already on his shit list.

He scored one premier league goal in over 2000 minutes of football last season.. as an attacker.

I think he’s a good signing but we really need to work on the word bargain if we think it applies here. It’s 50 million pounds.
I think Kudus and Savinho would represent a step in the right direction but it's looking like the best part of £120m for two players that scored 6 goals combined in the Prem last year

The ease with which City want to do business for Savio almost takes the shine off the deal. Like what do they know that we don’t?

With this Savinho deal / no deal sure to drag on, surely.....surely we are also progressing with a #10 :frankfacepalm:

I think we have City in August don't we, so they probably wouldn't want to sell before our game even if they do sell eventually, which seems 50/50 at this point. We simply can't afford to fanny about and lose another two weeks.

We absolutely need 4 players of quality. If we want to be competitive.

Doing away with his release clause wasn't "smart" if he still wants out.

The bit that frustrates me most is that we always seem to be behind with our targets Let me explain.

Mourinho had Kane and Son in the form of their lives while also getting a tune out of Ndombele and Hojbjerg. He just needed a top centre back (Sanchez, Dier, Tangana, Rodon were all starting regularly). He never got that top centre back. We signed Romero the summer after sacking him!

Conte
played a back 5 so our attacking options were fine. Bentancur and Hojbjerg had a great relationship in midfield and Deki Kane Son was a fantastic front 3. Conte needed better wing backs and a much better left sided centre back (Emerson, Sessegnon, Ben Davies all starters). We only signed Lenglet on loan. The summer after we sacked him we went and signed Porro, Udogie and Van De Ven!

Ange
had a better all around team but we'd obviously lost Kane which was a massive blow. His style required touchline wingers who could beat a man. Brennan Johnson and son were not them players. We only gave Ange Werner on loan and an 19 year old called Odobert. The summer after we sack Ange we go and sign 2 of the best dribblers in the league - Kudus and hopefully Savinho!

This trend is amazing isn't it. We seem to always be 12 months behind with our signings and never give the current manager exactly what they are looking for! It always felt like we had the perfect Conte team under Ange. Now it feels like we could have the ideal Ange team under Frank!

It’s not a secret.. again, one league goal. 2000 minutes.

They’re happy to let go based on that, we think he might be able to do more guaranteed off the left. They have Doku who does his role really well.

Honestly it suits all parties and makes loads of sense.

I'd imagine Levy wants nothing to do with Marinakis ever again and has probably wrote to the premier league complaining about him.
Levy hasn't got a leg to stand on. We fucked up re MGW, we're lucky they ain't writing to the PL about us. But Marinakis humiliated Levy publicly, so he doesn't need to waste his time in legal shit.

And I guarantee you that if Forest announced that so & so is available at a discount rate, Levy would be all over Marinakis like a rash.
