As per Article 20:09 in the regulations of the UEFA Super Cup, List A had to be submitted online by 5 August 2025 (24:00 CET(11pm UK)). I do wonder whether both him and Palace were waiting to see if Palace's Europa league appeal worked.
He may have indicated that he would stay at Palace if they were in the Europa League but now the appeal has been rejected, he's open to a move.
It's a bit of a coincidence that all this noise comes within 24 hours of Palace being confirmed as not in Europa.
