Eze also has developed some nice chemistry with Mateta, a player quite similar to Solanke in terms of being able to act as a decoy that'll create openings for others behind him. He would be providing the goals that someone like Kudus probably won't.

The more I think about this the more sense it makes to me, even though I still think 68M release clause should be negotiated down a bit.

why?!!! We’ve brutally hatcheted our wage bill, why do we need to save an extra 10M (which is 2M per annum on the books)?

What’s wrong with you? Palace haven’t made a signing ffs they aren’t gonna flip their best player on the cheap
For the same reason that we didn't activate the 85M release clause of Kudus', even though we could've had.

He's not worth it.

He's 27, has 2 years left in his deal, and most importantly seems quite keen to move on from Palace. They don't have great leverage, just like they don't have any with Guehi at the moment. It's irrelevant how many signings they've made.

He's also wanted by arse. Would you walk away and let them get him over your perceived valuation?

It’s very relevant

We just need a few good players, that’s it. Our cost base is lower than anyone else in the PL, probably in the football league (%). Let’s do it. We have the CL this season somehow. Speculate and move the dial

Honestly, I couldn’t give a fuck about the transfer fee we pay for either.

I’m convinced Eze and Savinho would be excellent players for us so it means nothing to me what we pay

It matters if you are Villa, and on the precipice but we are so far away from that it’s completely irrelevant

We’ve slashed 100M from our annual open costs. Spending 150M on these two doesn’t matter whatsoever
