Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We never know how accurate the latest updates are but it seems as though on both deals we are a fair whack off the mark as it stands.

The stakes are very high right now. The quality of the players are very high and we're screaming out for quality in attack.

Latest updates are typically a week or so behind, and updates about valuations from people who have zero idea - and lets be honest, how could they? They are literally done to make them money so they can get clicks or else these idiots have no income stream from their social media.

Im not sure how the vast majority of intelligent individuals who scour the internt for football updates every 3 mins havent worked this out yet........

Yea ive always known that the media etc are behind the curve on current standings.

I think most of us are in agreement that we need these two to happen to bring about real hope for the season ahead.

Its the big potential for them to fall through which causes the frustration, nothing more.

Just curious. As they seem at the beginning they are in the know but at the end theyre not really in the know.
It’s kind of like the Barnum effect. In things like astrology or fortune telling, it’s where the fortune teller says something general and you feel like it applies to you. “You have a great deal of capacity that you haven’t used yet”

This is how the ITKs write, only applied to football and transfers. They don’t know anything more than what you can glean from Twitter, but try to say things that could be read as applying to what happens.

I just hope we have decent options on the back burner if either or both fall through and we’re not left with our dicks in hands like after the MGW fiasco!

Even though we all know these guys are full of shit, there's enough murmuring to accept we're probably haggling, and that this will drag on and on until everyone is completely exasperated.

I don't want a repeat of the last 20 years, but I don't see another outcome.

There are plenty of transfers where the reports about the player and the purchase happened pretty quickly.
Literally one happened this window - and he wasn't cheap.

My guess is that some kind of Eze deal has been in the works for weeks, probably longer, and charity shield + Europa news has now made it so reports about it are starting up about it because he is going to leave. In all likelihood, the player is potentially weighing up options

Feels like if we were really worried about Woolwich, we would’ve wrapped this up quickly. The fact that Levy is haggling makes me think he believes we’re the only ones in serious contention for Eze. It’s a completely unnecessary risk to take given the state of the squad, but that’s obviously not ENIC’s main priority.

It’s sad how easily we can get duped. Everyone even myself fell for the bullshit again. It’s clear we aren’t close on either Eze or Savinho at all.

Eze AND Savinho together will never happen. One, only one, may happen at the end of the window.

They’re just big name carrots thrown to a very frustrated fanbase, likely because they know there will be protests at the Burnley match after we get thumped by PSG tonight and have zero fit 10s or LBs entering the season.

Levy still hates us, Lange is still a bed wetter who can’t close deals, and Levy is still a tightwad who cannot resist haggling over everything. I would love to be wrong about this but we’ve seen 20 years of it, I’m very well-versed in how this will go.

Saved this on the off chance we get both

Woolwich already took forever getting Gyokeres over the line haggling down the player wage and agent fees, and pivoted away from the Sesko deal after baulking at the price, if they actually wanted Eze he would already be their player. Woolwich haven't been the best at generating fees yet for their unwanted players, they've done alright on a few like Emile Smith-Rowe, Folarin Balogun etc but for the most part I don't think they can really afford to go past their current £200m net spend unless they manage to generate some sizeable outgoings before the window closes.
