Would be no problem if we'd not wasted 70+ mil on Tel & Odobert.
Right. And we had to buy Solanke because Richarlison was a clear miss. All the time we have to dole out more to paper over earlier mistakes

We could have bought a world class striker for the same of what we spent on them, but instead we try the cheap route and end up paying twice and getting less

Perhaps the idea of 140m for Savinho and Eze would have gone down smoothly if we hadn't burned half the money on those players, who may never be anything. No disrespect to Tel and Bert but that figure is shocking

Thomas Frank (+ his coaches), Kudus, Palhinha (without an obligation to buy), Takai, and our loan deals for squad players by mid-August isn’t terrible.

Maddison’s injury has forced our hand for a #10, and we definitely need 2 or 3 quality players to ensure we make it through to the knock-out rounds in the CL.

Edit: I think Takai is going to be a great signing for us.

I’d be shocked if this happens at that level. It’s far too much money for him.

Pep supposedly wants Rodrygo. But Levy isn't going to fund that deal by paying crazy money for Savinho.

If Pep signs Rodrygo or Simons, Shitty will need to sell one of their wide players, and it looks like Savinho is the expendable one. None of our rival clubs appear to be in for him, so there's not much competition.

I expect Levy to do Levy things, since he thinks he'll have "leverage" if Shitty get Rodrygo, and since Pep is also allegedly after Donnarumma, which will be a very expensive deal (transfer fee plus salary).

Levy will drag this out in the hope that Shitty's asking fee drops. There's no guarantee it will.

Guehi wants Liverpool now. Yeah cause they'd pay him good money, but mainly cause they're a serious operation that wins big things.

Show him we've learned from our mistakes, that we gonna be real serious from now on, that it's more rewarding bringing Spurs back to the top of the tree than keeping Liverpool there.

Maybe, just maybe he'd change his mind. Especially if we also bring in his mate Eze, get a deal with City for Savinho...and you never know, we might wake the eff up all the way and sign a good LB & a proper goalscorer (sorry Dom).

But yeah...Levy & Lange.
I think we'd be a terrible choice of club for Guehi but we'd be perfect for Eze.

Why would Guehi come here? He wouldn't even be guaranteed a starting role because Romero is captain and VDV is pretty good. And we aren't close to competing!

At Liverpool he probably gets Konate's spot as he's off to Real next Summer and running down his contract. He also gets told he will be Van Dijk's long term successor. Plus Liverpool will continue to compete and win things.

The worst possible thing Guehi could do is join us. No way any agent will let him come here. And apparently Palace accepted our offer in January and it was Guehi's camp who rejected it.

I think it also depends whether Sav actually wants to leave or whether he's fine to stay for his place but open to a move.

If it's the former, I think City will accept a lower price and shift him out the door.

Re-Savinho. Lets stick to pounds. The agent mentioned euros. City want 60m and Spurs first offer was 45m.

Spurs are going to bid again but knowing levy it'll be closer to 50m and will include add-ons and some complex installment plan. I guess City will reject that too. I think he'll go for 55m but could take Levy another week to get there!

This seems like a pretty compelling case that we do in fact have leverage, right?

If you look at what other wingers have sold for then I think its not a million miles off. Just go watch a few games hes played in if you're not that familiar with him.

Elonga, madueke, Gordon....hes not scored as many of those in his only season in the pl BUT hes far far more talented than them.

60m +5m.

He really wants the move. World cup year and he's competing with the likes of Raphinha, Vinicius and Rodrygo for winger spots with Brazil.

He is desperate for first team football and knows he'll struggle for mins at City. Pep usually lets them go. They'll eventually agree on a fee I think.

No city want 69m pounds, 80m euros
