I’m sure Palace will drag this out to get our noisy neighbours involved. They have no reason to take our first bid without attempting to start a bidding war between us and the Gooners - in fact, this is transparently what they’re doing.

Only way they sell sharpish is if we blow them away with an offer similar to the release clause which we all know is not how Levy does things.

This will drag and drag and drag.

Savio and Eze will come in last week of the window, if at all, as I’ve always said. We’re in squeaky bum time now.

The reason I think the Savinho and Eze deals will happen, or at least, should I say, we want both.

Is because, I think Savinho has been earmarked, or at least that LW position, has been earmarked for Son's replacement, so a priority target for us for ages. Probably at least a year.

And we were also in for MGW, who would have been that hybrid 8/10. So Eze will be coming in as a 10.

So it makes me think the idea has always been to bring in two players there in attack. MGW wouldn't have been Son's replacement.

I guess there is a possibility that we only sign Eze, and view him as a player who can play both positions. In fact, knowing us under Levy, that is probably a likely scenario unfortunately.

But, that wouldn't make sense. Because, if Eze comes in to play 10. We still have a huge Son sized hole at LW for the entire season.

Tel has shown he is miles off being ready. Odobert is unproven.

Frank is no fool. I cannot see him thinking that going into the season with no Son replacement, is a feasible situation. No way does he think Tel and Odobert are sufficient.

So fingers crossed, if both happen it's the best window ever.

I’m not sure they will. They are short of cash apparently and Glasner has been vocal that the team needs reinforcements. They’ll want to get it done and get in new players.

We're about to talk to them guys... geeeet ready!

Season literally starts in 3 days.
What are you moaning about?

Thursday : "Hello would you"

Friday : "Take 55m"

Saturday : "For Eze, if yes please accept quickly so he can play today"

Our board led by crybaby Lange forget he has to sign by noon Friday in order to be registered.

Friday 1155am : "For Eze, if yes please accept in 4 minutes so we can fit a medical in and sign the paperwork for tomorrows game in 1 minute"

Agree I think it's in Palace's interests to get this deal done quickly so that they can make their own moves.

I doubt Woolwich are scanning X to see what Romano says about our bids for Eze to remind them to get involved.

Woolwich will be more than aware about what is happening with Eze. For whatever reason they have decided not to move for him

Ornstein is very close to Woolwich, basically their Ally Gold, and has said that Ewaneri's new contract meant their interest in Eze had waned, And that they would maybe only go in for him if they can shift some more squad players.

That's probably the reality.

Id be suprised if both take that long as palace need the money to re invest and city will have big big deals to do with rodrygo, donnarumma and co. Too risky leaving those go to the wire.

    Eze price too high

Neither Woolwich or Tottenham are willing to pay the asking price for Eberchi Eze this summer, according to reports.

David Ornstein of the Athletic claims that Crystal Palace would like a fee close to their £68m release clause of Eze – a figure that neither North London club is prepared to pay.

Ornstein claims that, for Woolwich, Eze has not gone from the agenda, but there will be considerations on the price, age profile and position he can play.

Herclueless Herclueless

This is how I felt yesterday. Nobody's paying 68m and once the clause ends its only downhill from there for palace and there hand weakens.

I still want us to cough up and pay whatever it take though tbh as we're so damn desperate but 55m +5m is the maximum they get now.
Their hand weakens with the passing of time obviously, but an active release clause or not has no impact on that.

They want close to that figure because that's what they value him at, and it's what they'll value him at even once the clause expires.

If Palace get twitchy close to the deadline and negotiate lower, then the fact that the release clause expired will be purely coincidental.
