Savinho over Eze is easy for me.

Eze is a player that can get you into the top 6. But every one of those to clubs has a player that is as good or better.

Savinho is a bigger risk but if he reaches his potential, he can take you to the top and those players are not available to a club like ours often.

I’d take both, though.

surprise wtf GIF

Crime pays and most govs don’t really give AF- they just want the investment.

Unless it’s the player pushing for a move more and Pep thinks Liverpools window is forcing him to get an older star in Rodrygo.

Listen to the way Pep talks about Savinho. He absolutely loves him

If Pep absolutely loved Savinho, he would be going absolutely fucking nowhere. He probably thinks he's a talented lad. He chats a load of fucking shit in the press and bigs up his players (especially the young ones) to silly levels. Almost as much as he bigs up the opposition. I'm expecting a 100 mill bid for Kulu any day now based on Pep's salivating, maybe we could offer them a swap deal?

Savinho: 1 goal, 8 assists in a city team
Mbeumo: 20 goals, 7 assists
Gyokores: 39 goals, 7 assists

Sesko...you've got me there I'm actually sceptical as to his ceiling

Eze speaks for himself

I hope you're right and savinho develops into a top tier talent.

I'm not saying I don't want him I just think I'd rather see us pay top money for someone like Eze, MGW, Baleba or Wharton who I see as less of a "hit and hope"

Watch savinho he really has something about him.
Gyokores is a flat track bully imo barely scored against good opposition in Portugal and has failed everywhere he has been apart from sporting and Coventry. He is 27 by the way not 21, in /2020/2021 he scored 3 goals for championship teams I 30 games. He is a lot closer to Jansen than haaland

But we're only doing this in the first place because it seemed that City was happy to be rid of him.

We would never otherwise think we could buy a starter in good standing for City.

A player who by the way in his one season there saw them drop 20 points from the season before, to their lowest total and BY FAR their lowest goal output under Pep.

A team with Doku and Savinho on the two flanks can't score enough to win the title, and now they're mugging us off to try and solve the problem for them. This deal sucks.

Im not going to spend my time persuading people.
If ur not a fan then ur not a fan, fair enough.

I think he will take our attack up levels as will eze. I think hes probably the 3rd or 4th most talented young attacker in the world behind yamla, doue and barcola. Can you name anymore ahead of him?

I don't care about cost, its not my money and I certainly aren't going to moan about the club showing ambition in the window. I want it done asap.

Well that didn't work out well

Palmer is levels above Savinho

And yet, that’s the beauty of football. Stats at a certain age don’t tell the full story. Palmer barely had a chance at City, then exploded once given a consistent role at Chelsea. Same could happen with Savinho. Talent isn’t always obvious in raw numbers.

Before turning 21, Palmer had 19 PL games with 0 goals and 1 assist when Chelsea signed him.
In contrast, Savinho, at the same age, has had a significantly more impactful debut season for City - 29 apps, 1 goal and 8 assists.

So in raw output terms, Savinho already eclipsed what Palmer mustered at that age. But hey, Palmer’s rocket launch came later once he got his Chelsea run. Both have huge ceilings.

Savinho got 2 goals and 12 assists for City in 45 apps; one in the Prem with 10 assists, and one in the CL with 1 assist. Also got 1 assist in the FA Cup. I’m leaving out the CWC that he got 1 and 1 in over 3 apps but Transfermarkt count it as last season.

You’d hope the goalscoring can improve but those assists show he’s already got some of that extra creativity we’re looking for in attack.

Completely agree

Well, but guys like Van Dijk and Alisson were very obvious #1 needs in those windows that they took care of with obvious solutions immediately.

Savinho is a sudden surprising opportunity that looked like a swindle.

Well, it isn't going to be a swindle. We can get tunnel vision or we can adjust.

I'm not going to sit here and bitch about us spending big for a talent exciting player if he comes. We paid too much for Kudus too, but you can't not enjoy watching the guy play.

But we really need to maximize every pound if we want to get anywhere in the aggregate.

Palmer is less than two years older than Savinho and has fewer career senior appearances
We tried buying too many young talents at good prices, but we got left with a side that was not up to the current PL and desperately lacking physicality. What’s brilliant about this summer’s signings if we get Eze and Savinho is we get four talented players with Kudus and Palhinha who are physically ready for PL football.

Savinho at best is a 35 mill player based on his career output so far

Mbuemo has just come off a 20 goal PL season and he moved for 70 mill. Now way should we be paying the same for a player just based off future potential
