True, Eze and Salvinio both make logical sense though. Not just take a punt on a player based on age or price, you can see the thinking and it makes sense.

Think you got that the wrong way round, mate -
No footballer playing in the Premier League is Average.
This idea that they are comes from fans being sad when they don't play well.
There are over 125,000 professional footballers registered across the world - perhaps 30,000 odd in England alone
About 500 senior players are registered to play in the prem.
To reach that level, you simply cannot be average.
You can look worse than others around you due to any number of factors.... wrong position, wrong team, wrong coach, etc.
But average? It's just a lazy narrative by folks who do not understand the game beyond caring about whether their teams win or lose.
Imagine the worst premier league player you can think of. And then imagine them in Sunday league football.
Assuming some utter bellend doesn't just end them out of spite, that poor PL player is going to boss that match.
We have 1 hour and 2 minutes left to sign 3 players we need to be “ready” to compete on all fronts. #levytime
No we don't. We have 1 hour to sign players to play Burnley. That's not all fronts.

Problem across the board really. Man United and Woolwich struggling even more. Garnacho and Trossard would be a level or two above Solomon and they are struggling to sell them just as much.

Chelsea just do shady stuff that really should be illegal. Selling Felix for a profit should have set of alarm bells everywhere.

Liverpool and City seem to get good prices but that's probably because of what they've won. Its no shame on Harvey Elliott not getting into that Liverpool title winning team. Its no shame on Mcatee not being able to break into that City midfield. However, its embarassing enough that Garnacho was struggling for starts int he worst ever United team, Trossard couldn't start ahead of an out of form martinelli for a team that ultimately failed, and Soloman wasn't wanted by a Spurs team who finished 17th!

As our wages are lower theoretically it should be easier to move them on but in reality they’ll be going to a club lower down the food chain so will become one of the highest paid there. That’s always conundrums

Yeah man, it pissed me off no end seeing these kids get called shit and average by people who, I'm pretty certain, aren't even close to being in the top 5% of their profession

I think I can disprove your comment ref worst premier league player in a pub team , however he is the exception that proves the rule

TBH, it also pisses me off when some football hating borderline communist says footballers shouldn't be allowed to earn £100k a week.

The bottom line is, there is that much money in football, that I would rather the big money goes to the ones I go to see every week. Because if it didn't, it would line the pockets of the chairmen of the clubs, the heads of the TV companies to such a degree they'd be up there with the Musks and Bezos' of the world.
And that would be worse.
AND it's only the elite that get to those ages. The average wage in the PL is £67k a week / £3m a year. That's the AVERAGE. There's a lot of players on a lot less and some on a lot more.
Here's a look at our est wages. Yes, £130,000 a year for some one like Will Lankshire may seem a lot. But that could be the best contract he ever gets and his football career, if he stays fit and employed is maybe 15 years long, not 40+

He wasn't a premier league player, he was a con artist.
There's probably been streakers on a pitch with more talent.
