Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

The best way to deal with the negative aspects of something are to talk about them and do something about sorting them out, if you simply whistle along with a glass half full attitude nothing improves.
I get what you’re saying but there are two problems.

First, this isn’t in your locus of control. Complaining about something you can do nothing about is just suffering. People arent trying to organise or « sort something out ». They’re logging on day after day to make the same pointless comments.

Second, criticism is fine. Nothing wrong with criticising the team, players, manager or owners. It’s a game of opinions. What is less fine is the weird attitude that the sky is falling in. It’s the inability to see that there is a lot of positive with the negative.

We’re spurs. We’re a good club who occasionally win things but we have never been some elite force and there are quite a few posters who complain day after day ther we are not elite. That is why some people wonder why they wouldnt just be happier supporting an elite club.

CarrieFi CarrieFi . Disappointed in you for the smilie I was hoping you and Mrs P would say I’m sure in real life you are a truly fragrant charmer of a man

'zis real?

🚨📝 Crystal Palace have AGREED to the deal Eberechi Eze is now a NEW Tottenham player! 🤍⚡

💰 Price yet to be revealed… but my source from the Spurs kit department says it’s happening ✅

I’m 99.9% confident on this one 👀🔥

#THFC #COYS #Spurs #Eze

I'm new to all the ONLINE ITK stuff, so assume it could be anyone posting it!

Until I see Eze being carried off on a stretcher 15 minutes into his Spurs debut, I won't TRULY believe he's 100% ours!

To be fair, living alone with 23 cats sounds like my idea of bliss

50 was never happening.
He's worth around 65. 60 with fairly difficult add ons to 70 would be fine.

We are desperate so have to accept we need to overpay.
somewhat.
Surprised we are going above 60 tbh. Usually we only sign players if we "spot an opportunity".

In this case there is no bargain opportunity. We are paying a premium fee to take a young player with bags of potential off a bigger club who would rather keep him. Its exciting but so unlike Levy.

You have just ruined my user name ! :frankpoint2:
Get a new one, like The Extra Mile(sey) The Extra Mile(sey) soon will.

Thought Richard Arlison Richard Arlison would have to this summer, but we're keeping Brazil's greatest ever No 9 at the club for another 26 years so his username is safe.

Im not tbh he ticks alot of boxes. Yes you could point to his goal tally last season but he was playing on the right, first year in pl, not a nailed on starter and let's be honest pep doesn't exactly play his wingers in a traditional expressive way does he?

He young and has world class potential

Has had seasons previous where hes scored a number of goals

Legitimate son replacement, would excited fans as let's be honest hes exciting to watch.

Huge potential marketing and merchandise wise

A stage to fulfil his potential in a young exciting team and coaching staff proven to develop young players.

Likely Brazil first teamer in a year or 2.

How long does he get credit for the stadium... this will be our sixth season now. Another five, ten, twenty years... nearly every Spurs fan I've met credits Levy for the new stadium but it's not an eternal thing. You want honest feedback but you like so many Levy apologists don't want to hear it but here you go... the team baring a handful of players is still a load of shite. The leadership is still a load of shite. The transfer window once again is a load of shite. If he didnt oversee so many poor decision he will still have stadium credit in the bank but that credit expired a few seasons back around the time Conte gave him some "honest" feedback. And what did he do with that feedback? Answers on a postcard to Perth...
This is the thing, you're saying that the praise for the stadium only has a finite shelf life, but posters are happy to still mention Nuno as a shit hire, or slam Levy for not backing Poch after the CL final loss. Which is it? his perceived successes are only talked about short term, but his failures are mentioned for decades?
You say how long does he get credit for the stadium? Well it's a success story right? So forever....how long does Bill Nicholson get credit for the double in 61, or has that been and gone now?
I'm far from a Levy apologist, but you've painted me as that because I'm prepared to give praise for success as well as give judgement on his failures. Because that's the fair thing to do right?

You've also labelled this window as a failure, it's not over yet. If we spend £200m+ on a brand new attack then I'd say most fans will be happy. However you're writing it off before it's over.

I suspect the posters that you're referring to would be reasonably happy if the club won something every five years, it is labelled a big 6 club with a large support, an expensive stadium, and high ticket prices.

I don't see why posters on here should go support a so called elite club because they're complaining about this club not getting better players in.

I'm sure that ''some people'' here know damn well that it's unlikely football supporters will change clubs, and suggesting they do that comes over as them making a wise crack. People use football forums for all sorts of reasons, some posters want to vent their frustrations and disgruntlement with one another.

I don't see why our club shouldn't be gathering a similar amount of league points as Woolwich, and I don't see why it wouldn't be a cause for constant complaint.

They want the club to sort this out, I suppose posts on fan forums and social media do get through because the club saw the racist posts directed at Mathy Tel.

Would be quite the turnaround, pretty sure Glasner said he would start tomorrow
True, but a lot can change in 48 hours in this business (he said that yesterday, which is hardly surprising, what else was he gonna say?)

Personally I'm confident that Eze will join us this window (even put a £100 bet on it) regardless of what happens tomorrow.

I suspect very few of the moaners would be happy if we won a trophy every five years. We win a trophy less than 3 months ago and look at the commentary over the summer.

You think winning an FA cup in five years would change that?

Or would it be the trophy in ten years that would finally make them happy?

The point of those comments isn’t to make anyone actually go to support another team. As you say no one expect that. It’s to get them to consider what they really value about supporting spurs. To read a lot of their posts, it’s hard to see what they even like about it.
