Delaney update, for what (little) it’s worth:

Sounds as if we basically came to an agreement but Palace are stalling as they need time to negotiate replacements.

That all sounds completely plausible. If we pay more up front then we get him.

A loan with an obligation to buy would totally remove that issue and the need for any delay, as well as meaning he couldn’t play against them in the return fixture in 2026.
Problem with this, is he doesn't get a new contract and a pay rise until the loan is made permanent.
Not sure I've ever heard of a team loaning a player and paying them more than the parent club.
He may claim it's all about minutes, but money makes the world go round.

If Spurs were to sign Savinho and Eze, they will need to make room in the squad. The Premier League squad is reasonably straightforward, where Gil, Solomon will make room for new players.

The champions league squad though, they would need to drop established players. Assuming that Gil, Soloman, Bissouma, Dragusin, Takai, Vuskovic aren't going to be named in the champs league squad - would still need to drop 2 players - with the only realistic candidates being :

Davies (but then would only have 3CBs and 3FBs - enough cover for injuries?)
Odobert or Tel
Bergvall or Gray
Kinsky - risky having no decent backup keeper?

1. Kulusevski (obv)
2. One of Odo or Tel

I haven't heard anything since the inaccurate info I provided last week. But I am still optimistic a deal gets done. Pep rarely (if ever) gets in the way of a player leaving. If you look at the Lewis situation, he's been quick to address that and publicly confirm Rico doesn't wish to leave. He hasn't done that with Ederson or Savinho because both want to leave.

Even if Savinho was told he'd get increased minutes, the guy wants to be playing as many as possible to make the World Cup squad. The return of Bobb should increase the chances of them letting Savinho go and I think they're rightfully delaying a deal to avoid the possibility of him facing them on his debut.

I hope it's not a deal we hang all our hopes on though and that we have a deadline as I don't want the club to be in a position where we have a few days left and he signs a new deal/we can't agree a fee.

For now I choose to stay optimistic and hope behind the scenes progress is being made. I cannot stress how good of an addition I feel he would be. Having him & Kudus on our wings is a night and day compared to previous seasons and would make us VERY difficult to play against"
Savinio is the same age as Tel and Odobert give or take. It wouldn’t be a great vote of confidence in them if he came.

Maddison, Kulusevski

Madds and Dragusin already concidered out of the champs league squad list.

Kulu should be back by October.
Davies gives us backup for our 3FBs and 3CB. Given the injury record to CBs, not sure I'd risk just VDV, Romero and Danso as the only CBs in the squad.

Regardless; you neglected to mention them.

1. Still makes perfect sense to omit Kulu as it's naive to expect him to be fully back to form and worthy of starts before xmas.

2. I still say the 2nd should be one of Odo or Tel as that would still leave us with (in theory) Kudus, BJ, Odo & Sav (i.e. 2 wingers for each flank).

It’s a headache for sure.

I’d need to look at it but if you sign Savinho and one of Tel/Odobert are getting left out, then it’s got to be one of them because Savinho is going to be our record transfer fee.

Kulu isn’t confirmed October and it’s not like he will just walk back in and be at his best. We can always give him a chance to get back into the CL squad in the new year.

I can’t believe the people here worrying that we may be paying too much for Eze or that maybe he’s not that good etc. Have you all been living under a rock? Firstly we don’t have a fit 10 atm. Secondly there’s plenty of evidence of his quality over the last few years including winning CP their first ever trophy. Thirdly if you don’t want Eze, just who would we get?
Honestly, some people are never happy.

Mind you, he’s not at spurs yet and it may fall through because, well, because we are Spurs

In the days of teletext nobody gave two shits about club finances but now fans are all mini Levys.

It is what computer games have done to us all.

Kulu is going to take a loooong time to get upto speed.
First number of appearances his touch will be off, he will be rusty as hell, look slow and like an ikea wardrobe out there.

Don't count of kulu contributing pre xmas, its hopeful to think so.

That sudden link never made sense. But if we pay the release clause, and their owner isnt related to the Forest one, then they cant do much about it.

Seems like we will bring a defender in though to cover a couple of positions.......where's Lenglet now!?!?
They have to let him go if it he wants to go. There's absolutely nothing stopping them offering him a bumper new contract with a big payrise and removal/change of the release clause.
It's then entirely up to him what he does.

'Palace approach Brugge for Eze replacement'

Crystal Palace have approached Belgium Pro League side Club Brugge for attacker Christos Tzolis, according to The Athletic.

The reports suggest Palace are pursuing options in case Eberechi Eze exits Selhurst Park this summer.

The 23-year-old former Norwich forward scored 21 goals and registered 16 assists across all competitions last season.
