Hincapie would cover LB/LCB as an upgrade of Davies - I imagine that's why the rumours started.

Takai has platar facititis which can go on for weeks or months - so I'd guess would likely miss out on CL squad (might stay as injured as an u21 in PL squad).

Dragusin is currently injured, if not fit on 2nd September for CL registration, my guess would be his place is taken by Vuskovic or Davies (both could be kept in PL squad).

That gives us 7 defenders in CL squad as - Romero, Van de Ven, Danso, Vuskovic/Davies, Porro, Udogie, Spence. Likely one short to meet constraints of CL registration.
Who was the guy who was very reliable about Verts and Toby?

Edit

Update. Players added and crossed off

If Palace and City are playing silly buggers (or we are), there's still some getable good options out there.

Unlikely that we will be interested now, but I'm amazed nobody has sniffed around Minteh. But if we were interested in Savinho, don't see why we shouldn't be interested in Minteh. This kid is good 1v1, works his nuts off without the ball, his XA/XG isn't Savinho level, but he's only 20, loads of scope. Nobody's pulled the trigger of Fofana (right footed, inverted left forward) who could cover that outgoing Son remit. El Khannouss, the guy Palace will replace Eze with is well worth a punt at 22m release (even if we get Eze - although Palace may want us to leave that one alone if we do). Shit comes to shove, Sancho on a loan/option for that Inverted right attacker remit wouldn't be the end of the world.

We could even go balls out for Simons, who could actually fill both the ACM, ALM, LF, FWD and 8 remits in one player.

I'm adding Hincapie, we've been linked, has the qualities we need (Left sided CB who can also play LB and can play back 4 and back 3/5). Like.

I think that would be a club record fee for us. Not sure myself.

Something like 55 million, not that I have any clue, plus add-ons linked to appearances and silverware up to a higher figure would seem more reasonable, based on potential as opposed to anythjng we have seen so far.

I mean if he was that good why is he not starring for City?

Nail on the head.

Agree 50 ish is fine - its a risk we'll take that player can improve at Spurs to the standard we want

70 ish is not fine - player needs to improve t Spurs to justify the fee, and unlikely to increase in value ,beyond that,

If City are looking for a mug to buy at 70 + that's not us.

Can I ask the experts? Apparently 60m gets you Maghnes Akilouche would you do the deal. Unlike Kubo the physical demands are not as much of reach hes 6ft and rangey
Akliouche is crazy talented. I mean wow, the tekkers on that kid are unreal.

But his attitude worries me. Fair few people I know who follow Ligue 1 even more closely than I do, some of them Monaco fans, say he could be the new Ndombele for us...just as easily as he could be the new Bale.

It's chicken and egg, which is why Isak has fcuked himself with Newcastle.

Main striker, 3 years on his contract. The only way any club get him is with a 150 million pound bid, abd Newcastle could say yes, thats a realistic price for a first-team starter,of such quality.

City are asking too much and as the player wants to leave, we can hopefully secure a compromise fee.
