Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Guys, I don't post my itk unless I'm absolutely certain..

Today I was hanging out at my favourite petrol station and got talking to a guy wearing a Bluetooth phone headset so he clearly knows his stuff.

Anyway, he told me that there's a player at Crystal Palace we are monitoring, borderline closely monitoring the situation of. Apparently a forward that can play in the 10 or on the wing.

Don't shoot the messenger if there's nothing in this, just wanted to share what I know.

Do you have a 2nd fave petrol station? .....Or even a top 5?

Inquiring minds demand to know.....

This is not how transfers should ever be viewed.
Let's say he stays for 5 years and we qualify for the CL 3 times because of his performances.
That's his fee all paid for.

In a sense; yes, but if you transpose that logic accross all the 11-22 players required to attain CL football; then the circa-80m revenue it generates doesn't scrape the surface.

Possibly the wrong thread, but let’s suppose we get Eze and Savinho - where do people think we would still need to strengthen to challenge for the title or do you think we will challenge for the title with those 2?

I actually this with a coach like frank we wouldn't be too far away. I say that because there's so many different ways to win games of football, different ingredients and Frank's great at knowing how with the resources he has.
I think if we got who u said we would still need a top playing cm and a cb/lb. So for example if we'd bought maybe an ederson and hincapie aswell we would be there or there abouts after a season to really build up under frank.

Yeah I agree a top drawer CM is missing - still think we should go big on Wharton.

I think Vic is a weak link as well.

Excited to see what Frank can do with the front line

I agree that Savinho is not worth £70m but he is worth more than Solanke whom we got our pants pulled down for IMO, £65m should be getting you a top striking talent coveted by other top clubs, thinking Isak, Sesko, Gyokeres who were all wanted by Europe's elite and all moved for around the same as Solanke.

.....Before all 3 had ever even stepped into the EPL, let alone scored 21 goals in a single season.

Meh.

Isak is now priced at £150m. Sesko & Gykores might still bomb.

Let's not pretend this is the norm.

Genuinely interested.... Can anyone name another 20 y/o who cost 70m based solely on potential?
Its a huge risk to me , but like I said before I haven't seen a lot of him play , City do have good scouts and only buy the best however what has he done in his 1 season at City to Justify a £40 million pound increase on what City paid for him last year?
