Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

listening to our man Gold’s latest, I am puzzled.

Eze is a staunch Gooner. A through and through man who has always wanted to return to them. That’s’ fair enough I guess.

But why, when due diligence is a thing, were Spurs of all teams sniffing around a gooner ? I recognise that an argument exists that a professional is a professional, but across our history when has a known Gooner ever really been accepted?

Graham / Sherwood etc - as soon as an iffy performance came along they were pillared for being gooners, Eze would have been no different. Anytime he was 90% into a tackle we would have killed the bloke.

So why the hell would we go for him in the first place and risk this outcome / damage ? It smacks of the people running the transfer business not being blessed with emotional intelligence and understanding as to where they actually work! Some things do not mix. And that’s the reality of life.

And it is just another ridiculous reality with this board and Flange the cry baby. They are not “us” in anyway.
My take on it, before during and after.

No one wants to hear this, and I'd be underwhelmed if we only end up with Dibling, but the boy is class. Raw, but a very interesting skillset, and at 19 lots of time to improve.

Saying that we obviously need much more. Paqueta, Savio, and Dibling would be sensible, achievable, cover most of our needs, and would be a step in the right direction.
I'd definitely take Dibling, but only with the addition of 2 top quality players

Oh he cares alright - about his image and how he's seen by his peers.

When you're that rich what are you really striving for? Respect? Admiration? Acknowledgement from peers and colleagues.

He's taken an absolute battering.

Agree.

It's about value for money which I absolutely agree with, but this window we are being messed around and looking amateur.

I dont believe Levy will be content with that.

But for me it's less the rejections, as to why we went after Eze, who clearly did not want the move.

Eze is a black guy, in the England squad. Supposedly an Woolwich fan. Rice and Saka are there, plus they are further down the line. I get that. So unless you are going in with a huge bid, don't bother. And yet in saying that, Woolwich wouldn't have gone in for him had they not suffered the Havertz injury, and for me, it's the wrong signing, but fcuk the lot of them.

Levy needs a very strong 11 days, or he will be hounded out and forced to sell.

All of a sudden 100 million Rogers is our dream target and Khannouss is a powerful player. Lookman is being offered to Spurs.

One thing about Levy......He knows how to play the room. All BS. 25 years of this BS. He has got to go.

Levy had a deal done and personal terms agreed with eze.
Arrsenholes come in and offer more money to palace, higher wages to eze …..
Levy: we had a deal! Wah wah wah wah wah.
You can’t do that . Wah wah wah wah.
All the way home.
Now he can not spend his scheclkes and say to mommy that the big boys marinakas and parish were mean to him and not fair!
As you say, the big boys Marinakas and Parish. Let that one sink in Daniel. Marinakas and Parish have out played you…

This is precisely why most of Spurs recent deals have come out of nowhere. Spurs know that as soon as it is public knowledge that a player is available at a certain price - the bigger clubs will simply take over. That is why Spurs were forced to outrageously overpay for the likes of Solanke & Richarlison.

Eze's camp made the move public - Spurs were allegedly fuming. Palace accepted the offer early, and Eze agreed personal terms - but stalled signing the deal. Clearly his agent went to Woolwich and was asked to wait whilst they worked out the finances.

If Savinho is available for 50-60m, Spurs will lose out to Newcastle who will desperately overpay.

The reason why CITY & CHELSEA were able to take a shortcut to becoming a big team was vastly overpaying for transfers and wages. Spurs are not willing to do that.
Stop the Horse Shit. We knew Eze had a release clause of 68 million. If we wanted him, pay the clause and take him. But Nooooo.....Levy had to try to skim a few million off the deal. Story of this club. I've supported Spurs for 40 years. Levy has always been a bargain hunter. Doesn't want Eze, Savinho or any other Game changer in because the wage bill will be higher.

Killer Headline from the BBC

Eberechi Eze: Woolwich's ruthless coup shows intent and leaves Spurs stunned

Levy...You've been exposed again as the negligent, pathetic little coward that we know you are.

You've put new meaning into "laughing stock " of football.

Please fuck off and take your ridiculous band off followers with you.

orson welles applause GIF

Levy and ENIC continue to embarrass our great club, they really couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery.

They've been left behind and we're paying the price. Leaving business so late, dithering over this and that, complete lack of urgency and weirdos in charge.

Get rid.

I agree he needs hounding out and ENIC.

We didn’t like it but we should have gone in for Ramsey and Grealish. They can at least get you up the pitch, really good ball retention, good technically. Grealish can draw fouls, handy if you’re putting in a lot of time on set pieces.

They’re not the top drawer signings that everyone’s dreaming of but the owners aren’t capable of doing those signings. We’re a fairly poor side that needs to start improving. We’re still think we’re the prime Kane/son team, we’re not we’re far off that. People got excited about the Burnley win but that wasn’t an encouraging performance to me. Really struggled on the ball against a promoted side. Up until the second goal the game was in the balance. If the club sit fairly idle these last 11 days we’ll be struggling near the bottom half of the league, that will happen.

No more 19 year olds thank you. Go out and get proper players who can lift the team. We already have enough 19 year olds who come on and weaken the team.
Nothing changes until the finance capitalist leaves. Let's get another finance capitalist in who has more money than sense or, like Chelsea's, has no respect for the financial rules.
