I'm not saying Ange was the answer, but he was another let down by the board in terms of not having a squad with enough depth to handle multiple competitions. Ange wasn't perfect, and his tactics were naive, I agree.

In the last week of window the clubs that were forced to sell have done their selling and clubs that don't need to do it cannot find suitable replacement. Which means we either do nothing at all and use classic "we tried" excuse. Or we go in for an average player that his current club is not bothered to lose and offer way higher transfer fee and salary than he is worth and will not get needed contribution out of him nor can we move him on due to his high salary.

And all of that is sad!

I agree and that’s why the club tried a risky approach for Eze and it’s backfired. Because there is little else available. It’s fucked for us fans. MGW wasn’t even the clubs fault either. Let’s be real here. This window has been a disaster for many reasons. The club has clearly tried to bring in two top quality English players and been thwarted.

As it is we are miles behind Woolwich in quality now and the gap keeps getting wider. They keep adding quality and we don’t. Same with the other teams. All we can hope is the club somehow find a way to sign two top attacking players this window or quite simply we are all fucked and so is Frank. No way we get higher than mid table with our current attacking options.

I don’t think it was coincidence that Bent was talking on Talkshite yesterday afternoon that Eze should join the shit over us.

Nothing not expected in what he said but the timing was fucking suss. 2 hours later the shit hits the fan. It was obviously known they were well in for him and his preference was them all along.

Levy and his recruitment team fucking played again.
 
Let’s just start hijacking everyone’s transfer plans starting with Xavi Simons with Chelsea and go down the line. Harvey Elliot and RB Leipzig, El Kannouss and Palace.
 
So… for context… our brilliant genius businessman Levy was happy to agree an option to buy Gedson “the wrong” Fernandes for €50m back in 2020. But in 2025 he was quibbling over how and when we’d pay £8m of add-ons for Eze, delaying, dragging and annoying the player and Palace.

The guy can’t get deals done. Our new board of multiple C-suite plonkers can’t get deals done. But they’re the most expensive leadership team in world football.

Fuck these clowns.

True dat...Levy has monumentally fucked up here and merely provided another rusty nail for his already hole ridden coffin...Doesn’t alter the fact though that Eze is, was and ever will be a dirty gooner cunt and whether he came to us or not that wouldn't have altered except for the fact he would have enjoyed an armistice for the time wearing the Lilywhite just like Bent, Gallas and Adebayor.
 
Are we seriously to believe that we need to spend £70m ish on an attacking midfielder / winger? There must be decent options playing in other leagues that aren't commanding silly money for what would have been a £30m signing a year ago. Most of the players being bought from PL clubs at stupid money now were bought for under £20m in the not so distant past.
