The coping has already started. We aren't signing Paz/ Akliouche and Savinho. Just look at the chancer at the helm of our football club. Even if we did, neither Paz nor Akliouche, both of whom are amazing talents, are like Eze, who is exactly who we needed right now...

How's that coping when I literally said it probably won't happen?

Paz could very well be a much better first for number 10 than Eze was, and Savinho is infinitely a better fit for us wide left.

Eze is a very good player, but a passing number 10 was always a better fit than a ball carrier. Don't get me wrong though, Eze yes we needed, especially how fucking weak we are in attack.

Great, a midfielder from Ligue 1

Nothing is so bad that it cannot get worse - as my old scout leader used to say

Regardless of fault for MGW or Eze the fact is this isn’t the first time or the last time we have to result to our second or third choice options in the last weeks of a window. Giving players no time to bed in. And dealing an unfavorable squad to a new manager is criminal
Spot on, and its not poor planning that has caused it, quite the opposite it in fact, Levy knows exactly what he is doing every window with the 'we tried' and it's difficult' and then ending the window with a cheapy alternative. I bet he didn't miss a wink of sleep last night, out as soon as his head hit his silk pillow.

Who didn't want to come.

Let's reset, and then re-evaluate at the end of the window.

All parties know we are short at present.

How serious a club we are will be revealed in the coming days.

time will tell, fact is, in the position we are in we need to have our recruitment with younger players bang on, as youve just seen with eze, if other big clubs are in for the big money players, we rarely get them. so we need to strike gold with some younger players every now and then.

gray and bergvall are still teenagers, they are years away from being anywhere near fully developed, dibling is also a kid and physically hes beasting up fully grown men already. with his touch and technique already how it is, whats he going to be like in a few years when he gets his man strength?

recruitment of these younger players is huge for a club like spurs to move up a level. if the likes of dibling and berg turn into worldies, we will be competing for years and years off the back of that....well should be.
So hang on, what position are we in? Ninth biggest club in the world, huge revenue streams, way more than clubs out there buying ready made players to improve their first team... why are we not flexing our muscles... we are a big club but yet you are saying we must act like fucking Fulham and Brighton. Mate, you've been Levy'd big time and I don't know if there is a cure for you. I'm in genuine shock that you think we are some sort of minnows who should only be identifying potential to try and turn into worldies. I need to go for a sit down. I'm just... WOW

If I’m honest, passing playmaker like Paz is more the type of player we need than Eze. Eze was exciting because you know the quality you are getting.

The way I and many others operate in business for what is very similar to a tender is to ask a few firms to quote and if quality/price etc come back similarly you run them in parallel until final stages - but don't string people along - I've dome that on small jobs as well s £100m or so jobs..

I would suggest that Eze/Palace had decided to go with Woolwich almost certainly since last weekend or quite possibly a week before - so 'stringing' Spurs along by not telling them. That as I say is where business ethics come into play

I'd hope that Spurs had done a lot of preparation work on a few other alternative forwards - but the market is 'thin' for quality forwards and other clubs will also be talking to them. So we'll have to see
I agree. The deal has a strange look about it in that it appears Crystal Palace was delaying on behalf of Woolwich. They don't appear to have gained a lot beyond what they could have gotten by closing the deal earlier with Spurs. So, what happened? It could be the money was similar but the terms of payment were better with Woolwich paying more up front. Perhaps Levy kept trying to gain small advantages and lost the deal over insignificant amounts of money. The matter of not selling so Eze could play one more game doesn't seem plausible except as a delaying tactic. That suggests to me that given a choice between executing a deal with Levy or some other owner they are not going to trade with Spurs.

What do you think of the club?

If Eze wanted to go elsewhere, what we should not have done is flash our ankles. That's the failure. The wasted time. The opportunity to be laughed at.... again. Naive.

I like Dibling, but he will only be back-up, and let's see if it's noise or foundation.

We need 2 more, as well as Dibling in my opinion.
I think for levy this is quite damming the Eze deal.
Not only have they pissed about for almost 2 weeks , they only go to lose him to our bitterest rival.
I agree we need 3 in , i doubt it will be more than 2, the options are getting less and time is running out with tbe speed they work at.

Yeah it does my head in when people act like we need to be doing a Brighton.

We are one of the richest clubs in the world and charge our supporters premium prices.

Trouble is we are ENIC's property and entertainment investment portfolio with a cockerel badge slapped on it. Buying players doesn't increase the upside
