Of course Woolwich’s have been interested in Eze for some time. But the salient point is they did not come back into the picture until Havertz got an injury. We have had a free run at Eze for essentially the last 2 weeks and we failed to get it done, inexplicably.
We shouldn’t have allowed it to get to the point where Woolwich were even allowed back in the conversation.

A serious club would have just paid the release clause the minute we got the news or how bad Maddison’s injury was.

No one but the agent, the player and the three clubs Chairman know what the deal did and did not involve.

The player must have been aware of the Woolwich interest and that was the key to his decision.

If Eze was in the team for the Palace game tonight then the deal wasn't likely to be completed until Friday anyway.

Shit happens and circumstances change.

Yeah I think this as close as we are going to get.

For the record, I think we have been inept and played by a number of parties, but we'll never know the nuts and bolts, either from fan forums, Twitter oddballs or from most hacks.

The sad thing is I like Dibling as a prospect. He’s quite an athlete and has a lot of potential. Genuinely impressed me last year, then picked up an ankle injury and Soton rushed him back, I wouldn’t judge his season too harshly as a result.

The issue is he’s about three years away from being an actual CL level contributor: just like Gray, just like Odobert, just like Bergvall, etc.

He won’t deserve the massive spotlight and pressure that’ll be placed on him if we do get him.
