Yeh there is no comparison in raw ability terms, Maddison kills him.

Eze however is much more mobile and more importantly always available. Maddison is the better footballer, Eze is the more useful player.

Because we dither predictably it was the perfect way to get us. Levy made his bed but this was just too perfect for them

I did say in an earlier post that I rate Eze more than Madison at this point( mainly for availability and physicality) but it's not a landslide Madison has better passing and vision

Not that it matters too much, but Maddison and Eze are quite different.

Eze the more athletic and quite unique in how he plays, whereas I feel Maddison is more the passer. Both offer good goal threats within the systems they play under.

Maddison doesn't really control games though. He has the odd game but no. Eze, who knows. Who cares.

Were better of spending all that budget on 1x top level player than splitting it beteen 2x players of a lower level. This is where Franks tactical flexability comes in. You sign a decent level #10 and hes part of a midfield unit with Bentancur, Bergvall, Gray, Palinha, Sarr. Its not terrible. If the #10 needs a rest you play a 433 or a 343. Then spend the rest of the budget on your LW or CB/LB.

I'm frustrated that have lost a fragile Maddidon, for the season, now joined by what seemed an innocuous injury to Kulusevski and habe failed in 2 very public bids, which is quite unheard of.

I liked the idea of Eze, but did not see him as this master player, but his loss means we are now fishing in a sea with even less to aim.for.

Hmmmmmm......
