Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I have always wondered that if Eze is such a stud, up until Woolwich became involved why were Spurs the only club linked to him?
I’m not entirely sold on Eze, he’s decent but looks the same player he has been for years. But he’s still better than what we have right now.

Liverpool, city and Chelsea are stocked with attackers and don’t need him. Most other clubs he would not be interested in.

Who knows what is rumour, truth or bullsh!t.

What is a fact is that we are still 2 or 3 players short, and that the club has had ample time to source attainable targets, and thus far has failed to do so.

Whoever is mostly at fault is secondary to rectifying the issue.
Agree regarding the rumours, but I'm more interested in having any "fault" put right rather than having a witch hunt for failure.

I speculate this is because our rivals can or are always willing to spend more, but don’t want to pay inflated prices themselves as much as is possible. Also- the lost time we had invested trying to stupidly bargain this deal cannot be recovered- you can’t make or produce more of it this window. Simply watching our deals, baiting us into pursuing them, and then stealing them at the last minute is unfortunately a great full spectrum strategy to attack our business operations and club performance- in a way they can influence the future football match well before it happens by denying us specific players and opportunity to strengthen.

Is that what it was?

There was me thinking ticket sales for some of Spurs home games were probably a bit slow and Levy was happy to sell tickets of some of the MGW and Eze excitement.

Savinho, Paz and Akliouche are actually young chancers themselves btw, for people turning their nose up at Dibling. They’re hardly more experienced than he or El Khannouss is, Akliouche being the most experienced of the group.

If we do get one - which seems unlikely - we have to be prepared for the growing pains there too. That’s what frustrates me so much about Eze. This is now guaranteed to be a transition year where we will have to build for the future. With Eze/MGW it could’ve been a real CL contention year.

No it couldn't . Neither of those 2 are that good, and we still lack a top notch striker, although I think that can be said of many teams.

We have a top 8 squad at best at present in my opinion.

The transfer stuff aside ... this was always going to be a transition year

Any expectation otherwise is not in line with the reality of the situation.

Its Frank's first time managing this many games in a season at this level in a with a group of players who needed to be recoached from a year of terrible football.

They are all way more experienced. Akliouche is 23, has 7000+ mins of senior football under his belt and played 10 champions league games. Paz played 6000+ mins of senior football, and played 3 champions league games 2 years ago even though he’s only 20.

Savinho had 9 goals, 10 assists in la liga at a small club as a teenager. And he was ok enough last year.

The other 2 scored 2 goals each on relegated teams.

I’ll say they guy that has proven he can take a team near the top of the league is far less of a chancer than the guys that can’t contribute to relegation teams.

It doesn't take away from the fiasco but Eze is starting to look like a bit of a wanker.
Yeah. There were a lot of pictures on the BBC live reporting website tonight prior to the game, with lots of fans, mainly kids with home made placards thanking him. Couldn't he have least turned up and acknowledged them. Or asked the manager to put him on the bench.

Without further strengthening we’ll need to have a well above average season fitness wise or we risk not having enough depth to compete adequately in the Prem. I think we struggle to do better than 6th right now, given the injuries and news about Kulu not being available until Jan at the earliest.

Savinho is levels and levels above Dibling right now

*shrug* do da banter online all you want, the top players want competing at the top level in the prem and getting to the cl later rounds, of course if you actually win that stuff even better but they'll take being involved in that over winning second tier trophies all day long.

What means more to Spurs fans is a different thing entirely.
