Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Most?

Romero, Porro, Kulusevski, VDV, Vicario, Solanke, Richarlison, Bentancur, Bissouma, Kudus, Danso, Maddison

Clearly not meant to peak in 5 years time

Some have been bought to peak in the next few years, but it's not most.

Sarr, Udogie, Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Tel, Vuskovic

We need more players already on the verge or at their peak, but let's not hyperbolise.
Maddison and Kulusevski are injured and we are actively trying to sell Bissouma. We were also open to selling both Richarlsion and Bentancur for most of the summer if a suitable offer came in.

Romero, Porro and VDV are the only players you mentioned who are probably good enough to play for title winning teams and I feel like they could easily waist their careers here now because we aren't backing the team to be competitive now.

I've heard Torquay has a fast longlegged winger fanboy of his, who we could take a punt on!

how would you describe our general transfer strategy?

Except for.....

Richarlison, Solanke, Johnson, Kudus and Bissouma obviously.

Other than the ones where that isn't the priority, which is plenty, you're 100% right
Everton had to sell for FFP, Solanke had a clause and no one else really interested, Forest are still financially fucked, Wet Spam are skint and Bissouma was running out of contract so was cheap(!) and also fucking bang average for 5 out of 6 games.

I thought you were just a fucking clown about Ange.

The clearest thing is whoever is in charge of it all, there’s absolutely zero plan.

I have no doubt in my mind that there’s no process at the start of the summer where we have identified a key list of targets who are first choice and who we will pursue, and then some secondary options in case those first options aren’t available.

You can almost hear the conversations between our transfer team being more akin to “oh, that didn’t work, who else could we look at?” And then we stumble about hoping to luck ourselves into an opportunity.

Zero plan, all left till the last minute, and we only look to shop when the proper quality is gone. We need to clear out the entire team relating to transfers including Levy. We are legitimately the worst team in the league for it.
I dunno about NO plan...
It's just a NAIVE plan!

The speed in which Woolwich made the move for Eze, shows he was on their radar for a while, and sort of knew he would welcome the move.

Having seen us beaten to his signature our response needs to demonstrate we did not have all our eggs in one basket.

If we don't see 'bid accepted' fot a target of objective quality today, then it's really poor.

I say that because fans will feel a bit deflated at present, and need something to give them belief and a voice before tomorrow's game.

It's also why there won't be any bid that City will respond to for Savinho before tomorrow, presuming that is our intention.

It's certainly a roller coaster.
I think Levy & Vinai need to set up a new Taskforce Recruitment department with the SOLE intention of identifying Professional footballers who are SPURS fans...

Cos that seems to get the deal done these days!!!

My guess is there aren't many...
Unless Jamie O'Hara & Roy Keane come out of retirement!

Everton were desperate to sell Richi because of horrendous overspending and needed cash. Ditto Forest with Johnson and West Ham with Kudus. Bissouma had a legal case hanging over him and nobody else was interested. Solanke is the only one where there were no extenuating circumstances for Levy to prey on.

Also taken in the round, Levy spent almost £300m on those 5 players. Do you think the other big clubs would have got more quality for that money? Are his ways of working really delivering value for money?
And some people really don't see a pattern here 😆

We should sign Kenan Yildiz. He's a tricky number 10 who can also play left wing. he's only 20 but he's played loads for Juventus and is an established Turkey international with over 20 caps. He's been one of Europe's best known youngsters for a few years.
A paritici masterstroke phone call and 60 million Euros should do it. he's a square peg in a square hole. he's the right age to mature at the same time as the rest of the team we're building too.
:porrohands:it just makes sense.
Fantastic technique but I cannot see Juve parting with him easily and most importantly I cannot see Levy pulling off this kind of signing.

It was definitely tongue in cheek

But the club are earning all the jokes.

9 days to go in the window, only managed to sign 2 senior players and sell 1, our captain, talisman and last legitimate star.

Levy, Vinai, and Lange are about to execute the worst window since our last European Cup Final.
With two major players out until Jan, or next season and a CL campaign to deal with.

It’s an absolute car crash - we’ve lost about 60 goals and steaming shit like Tel will not do anything to replace it.
