Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Wild really, on

August 22nd and still pissing about. I should imagine one at least will come in before next weekend because Levy won't want that heat from fans and media for the bournmouth game

In all seriousness though, it's been widely reported by all the mainstream media that we insisted on shoehorning Richi in to the deal at the last minute rather than pay the full fee.

That’s been debunked

As soon as Sky got wind of their precious gooners hijacking Eze, they cooked up the most inflammatory story that might be remotely believable. They live for moments to dunk on Spurs

Positives
Thomas Frank joined the club
Romero and Spence signed new contracts
We signed Kudus, Danso, Tel, Takai, Vuskovic and Palhinha

Negatives
We didn't sign Eze or Gibbs-White

Players
We've sold Keeley, Hojbjerg and Son, while Gil and Solomon remain. Doubts over Bissouma linger

Future
Dragusin, Kulusevski and Maddison are all out until at least September, or longer, meaning the manager probably has a decision to make

I appreciate what you are trying to do here.
Clearly there have been some positives in the window too.

But few things you missed -
Negatives:
- many our competitors have strenghtened their sides significantly more than us which means on relative terms we've became weaker
- unlike with most competitors, last season brought out issue of our thin squad; coupled with need of playing in Champions League there was bigger gap to fill thus higher expectations on the window than for most others

These are harder to quantify factors but they are still very much there.

So to sum it up - not enough has been done in reality.

Okay I’m sorry, this answer has convinced me beyond any reasonable doubt that you are indeed Daniel Levy.

What? Seriously?
You are clearly hysterical if you think that whenever someone answers question (and in fact did not say that this is good strategy- literally just answered what the stategy is!) is Levy for that.

If everyone have to just cry here in a circle than it is on you, not others, sorry :D .

Okay I’m sorry, this answer has convinced me beyond any reasonable doubt that you are indeed Daniel Levy.

Why?

What is wrong with people?

I was asked a question about what I thought a strategy was - and because I gave an answer that wasn't driven by emotion or my hatred for another human being, I am that human being?

Honestly, supporting this team does weird things to people.

Dibbling will probably end up being the Eze, Bowen type player but the fans don’t want to know. I can sort of understand it as we don’t mix those kind of signings with off the shelf type. He’ll be one we look back on with regret as well I reckon

I think you are right when you talk about this one player and one potential transfer in isolation.

But when you look at wider picture, our current squad and recent signings, then it might not be best fit FOR US at THIS POINT IN TIME.
It is also possible that once he joins Palace he becomes next Eze, Wharton, Bowen, Watkins type... but if he'd join us, he wouldn't get there. Cause player of his statue would get lot more chances and attention in club like Palace..

Let me rephrase it in a sufficiently civil way.

Do you agree that the club have had opportunities to transform our prospects from 'decent' to 'special' and missed the opportunity for them for financial reasons?

Yes, to a degree. I don't think the missed opportunities are ALWAYS financial reasons, some clearly are - personally, I don't see Eze as being in that category, but there have, of course, been others that are.

But I was asked what I thought our strategy was - and I gave an answer, which, judging by the players we have bought the last few years, seems pretty accurate.
