Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

So we are now competing with the likes of Palace and Leeds and Everton for players….

We aren't unless we allow ourselves to be bracketed with the clubs that are mentioned.

We have 9 days. Make worthwhile bids or tell the fans our business is done.

I can then choose how to spend the next 9 months, which will be less on inadequacy and foregone conclusions and more on things that are worth more of my time.

Unless we were just being played the whole time by the player and agent and he was never going to join us, we could have either triggered the release clause weeks ago or not pissed about for so long that the goons felt he was essential once Havertz got injured. It's been weeks since MGW fell through and on top of that Madders out for the season and they have done fuck all.
Let's say we triggered the release clause. If Eze had his sights set on Woolwich, it wouldn't have made any difference. I think we got played on this one.

Please no more second rate over priced players and no more young potential in this window.
I'd rather us stick with what we have and plan for January, even though January is a difficult time to find top class players who will hit the ground running, so even next summer.
Anything else (other than getting top class signings in now) imo would be a waste of money.

Why? cos im not melting down on a football forum - it is interesting that I am the one who you would say this too and not the folk that come on here and obsess over twitter posts from random people, news reports that are designed to get a rise out of you, and that like to vent on here by calling levy a bald cunt 6 times a day.

That's the strategy - did I say I liked it? That's what I wanted the strategy to be?

What do you think the transfer strategy is - take your emotion out of it, try, if possible, to look at it objectively for just a second, I promise no one will judge you, and tell me.
Yeah, I don't read the twitter garbage, I skim through this thread looking for the odd bit of useful information.

So I am not emotionally tied the insanity of it all.

You mention strategy?

Answer me this, what's the point in a strategy, when the guy involved has such an ego, that he needs to win every battle, that strategy becomes irrelevant? Twice this window Levy has embarrassed the club with has transfer negotiations.

First MWG he bid the same amount as the release cause raising alarm bells.

Eze, with the inability to pay what they ask for and anal nit picking on every little detail.

Again for 20 years in a row, we are fecking about, running out of time for positions and quality we are in desperate need of.

If rumours are to be believed, we are looking to get another 4 players? All of whom will have missed preseason with us. Which is why you get the majority of your business done earlier. Especially in critical areas.

If you want a sensible debate about things, then you need to accept the reality of things, such as, no point is having a strategy if the powers thatbe are to inept to achieve or follow it.

Someone with a rhudementry knowledge of anything knows, that you don't play your inside knowlesge first hand, you in play dumb, you either over or under bid, you don't exactly bid. That's just fecking stupid.

My two favourite PL players over the last few years MGW and Eze are not coming both HG.
How do we stand on our HG quota? Something that adds to the misery of the last few days.

Man City ITK Tolmie’s Hairdo

‘It's certain we will know after the canapes tomorrow’

in the Savinho to Spurs thread. Assume a meeting is happening then.

We can't go into a season with no creative midfielders. We are one of the richest clubs in the world so need to be prepared to "waste" money as the situation is desperate.

We are obviously not getting our primary targets so we need to move down the list and get the next ones in.

I mean, it is a bit funny that you're trying to educate me on how football transfers work, when, im guessing, you have never done one and are unlikely to have ever sold a single asset even close to being worth £50m with the level of complexity of a player deal....

Like it or not, Levy has bought and sold more footballers that you, I or, in fact, all of us collectively on this forum ever will. Its not even close.

All i did was answer a question I was asked. I answered it in good faith; it's my opinion.
