Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

If the Vuskovic loan is going ahead then we must be very confident on signing a CB to come in. Really hope it’s Hincapie. That would be brilliant. Apparently he’s our top choice.

It’s been very quiet for us on links to CB all summer

Nah, can't register him for the CL and Vusko doesn't want to sit on the bench. We won't sign another CB. Davies will be 4th choice CB.

It must depend a bit on the injury updates on Dragusin and the Japanese lad. Not much point bringing in another player if those 2 are going to be available a couple of weeks later.

I'm against loan for Vuskovic, we dont have fully covered CB position. But if decision was made, I think HSV is really great destination for him to develop, really glad he wasnt sent to champo
This loan would also add to the bizarre fact that we were fed the usual guff from Levy about Thomas being “gweat wowkin wiv young playas” but we’ve gone and loaned out the majority of supposedly talented young players on our books.

Everyone who mocks or shows anger towards my appreciation of Garnacho....

He is a lot better at this stage than Tel, who I do think will improve.

We are stuck as a club, and as posters, who can't separate dislike for a player and their ability.

And on Eze, my last comment until we play them. I guess had we made him our primary summer target, in his position, he might have felt more inclined. We went for Gibbs-White as choice number one. Maybe Eze thought we didn't want him badly enough when all were available, so why should he care that he ultimately chose that lot. I dunno.

Another rumour in the Italian papers about Roma being after Odobert. I do wonder if taking small loss on him and putting the cash towards overpaying for Savinho is the correct thing to do.

Odobert is skillfull but he just seems to be a bit of a wallflower. I can’t see him ever really stamping his authority on a match the way Kudus has come in and done.

He needs a loan to learn the game elsewhere and come back a better player. I’ve suggested it all summer.

Been reported by Ally G and others we want a CB, 10 and LW so Frank must want to strengthen that CB area regardless of how we see the permutations. Apparently he wants a left sided CB

Vuskovic loan is short sighted.
If anyone believes that our first choice CBs will not spend a good portion of the season in the treatment room they are ignoring all the recent evidence. I realise he may have to spend time in the bench, but I can definitely see the opportunity arising for him to be introduced, at the very least, at the end of games where we fail to break the deadlock with lesser teams that we can't break down through lack of attacking potency. I would suggest that he is the biggest aerial threat at the club.

Nah send them Tel instead but that rumour hopefully bollocks.

Eze, going by all the reports was our original first choice target, dating back to when Ange was still in charge. Then sometime around the time we signed Kudus, reports started coming out that Woolwich wanted him, and he only wanted them, which is when we switched to MGW. Then they went and signed Madueke and they seemed to go cold on Eze, this coincided with Maddison’s injury and we came back into the picture.

Fwiw, I think we should be sounding out MGW’s agent again, might be a non-starter, but with all the chaos at Forest just now, and the weird behaviour of Marinakis around him, I wonder if he might change his mind. Chuck £75m on the table and see if Forest change their stance. If we’re gonna overpay for a #10, which it seems like we have to, we might as well overpay for someone we really wanted, and one who is the most sure fire guarantee to actually work out as a signing.

We won’t though, cause Levy is penny wise and pound foolish, he’d rather spend £55-60m on an Akliouche or Paz - both of whom look talented but may not work at this level/league - than spend an extra £15-20m for someone who is more or less a cast-iron guarantee to work out and would be your number 10 for the next 7-8 years.

Dibling would have been a good signings if we didn’t have other kids like Odobert, Tel to develop. Good player but we need someone with immediate output.
I don’t get that personally. If he’d be a good signing, he’d be a good signing. We can’t just close off all lines to young potential because we have Tel and Odobert, If the football people at the club now think he has more about him than those two then you try for him. And look to move out the other two. That’s how successful clubs would do it. They’re not going to develop things from thin air.(Odobert is okay, but don’t think he’ll ever effect the game enough)

Agree we also need players to plug in now.
