Yep. It is amazing people want this guy from Leicester in. I have noticed a strange phenomenon nowadays where a head of steam builds up about a player (usually an average one) and we either sign them and they aren't decent or we have no interest in them whatsoever. This guy feels like that. I dont think we are after him at all for the reasons you state. I bet the same people who want him are the same people who didnt want Palhinha as he doesnt pass the ball like Pirlo.

I'd be happy to play one of them in the 10 most weeks tbh. Think it works well under Frank being that bit more pragmatic. We just need another option. Hard to be confident of Sarr keeping this level up all season but he's been brilliant so far
Slightly surprised there’s not more buzz around Damsgaard. Perhaps a deal would be tough with Brentford but prem proven, a very very good player, knows the manager and the system, and is the right age profile.

Agreed. The BEK hype is stupid. He didn't standout in a Leicester team that were comfortably relegated last year. Just because he's better than Winks and Skipp doesn't mean he's anywhere near the level of a Maddison or Kulusevski.
He's another complete punt where its all potential. No way he starts for us ahead of Sarr right now! So he'd be another young squad player! And does he have more potential than Bergval? Debatable!

He is HG though, which I think we are partly looking for. He is also on £25k a week when most of the Man U squad are on 4 times that. It is probably what he is after, a new contract there. Although Amorim doesnt seem to fancy him. If they get another central midfielder in though it will be interesting to see what happens with him as he will be further down the ladder. There is a player in there for sure, he is really young though and has plenty of time to learn a position. Cant just be him though, we need a proper attacker or two. All too much to do in a week, so we will probably do nothing.
He's just not a top player. Good prem level player. Maybe starts for us with the current players we have available but even that's questionable. He's nowhere near Maddison level.
It would be a very very underwhelming signing. Frank obviously would have requested him of he thought he was good enough.
Fortunately I dont believe we are after him. He's going to Palace, Leicester and his agent are leaking our interest to get the deal done there.
We've got enough staff here who knows everything about Damsgaard so he's probably not good enough, or else there's still concerns over his arthritis scare
I got arthritis of the mouth. I learnt to cope with it by keeping a stiff upper lip.
It certainly happens to us a disproportionate amount of times compared to everyone else anyway.
Unfortunately I do think we will end up with him. It's why his deal to Palace has stalled. He's waiting on us.
It's the same every window. Linked with exciting top quality names, end up signing players fifth or sixth choice down the list.
Remember the Inter CB we flew out to sign, ended up with Joe Rodon.

I can imagine the conversations at Spurs. We have a list of names, Levy goes "Oh our number 1 target (Paz) he's proving too expensive, we can't stretch to 60 million, we can't go over 50 million, Como won't do the deal"
The recruitment team are like "But this player has top potential, and would be able to hit the ground running and make an immediate impact on the first team if we can stretch a little bit"
Levy "No. How about that kid from the Championship?, he's on the list and is available for 30 million"
The recruitment team sigh. "Ok then, I guess we can bring in El Khannoush, I mean he does have potential, but might take a few seasons to really blossom"
Fast forward two seasons EL Khannoush is trying to be flogged out on loan to Turkey, the manager has been sacked because he wasn't backed and the club didn't meet it's targets, a new manager is in, but Levy saved a few quid. And round and round we go.
He doesn't understand the concept of, buy quality at a price, buy once, buy cheap buy thrice.
Are we really pretending Man U aren't a clusterfuck these days or that it doesn't typically take AFC 3/4 years to sign a ST or DM?
