Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

This is the worst window for quite some time.

Feels odd saying that given the great signings of Kudus and Palinha, but this is gross incompetence now.
Did they miss the last 2 seasons where we had millions of injuries?
It can't have been a shock Sonny was leaving. 3-4 weeks now since Madders injured, the lack of urgency is fucking astonishing.
How fucking long does it take to sign a player.
It's a football player ffs. You are not drawing up documents pertaining to designing a spaceship, flying to Mars and colonizing it.

Forest signed 4 players in a couple of days. Sunderland been busy, Everton didn't take 4 millenniums to snap up Grealish.

Frank, all his team and the players are doing very well indeed.
It's a shame the off pitch stuff is taking away some shine. We just don't ever seen to learn, or rather Levy never does. Transfers are to Levy as Christmas is to the Grinch or Kryptonite to Superman
:frankfacepalm:

Maddison is the big miss, but Sonny was unfortunately in decline so Kudus is an upgrade.
Sonny was declining but was still contributing.

Starting the season without him, and Madders missing the season and Deki potentially half deprives us of almost 70 GA a season.

Adding Kudus and losing those two means we are in a worse position that at the start of last season. And we know how that panned out. We could play 69 games this season. Last year was 60 odd. How have no lessons been learned?

Spot on mate. Yeah obviously if people are bigging Woolwich up constantly that's one thing, but we need to face reality and I've literally had to put up with so much shit from my gooner mates this summer. They are rubbing our face in it all the time at the moment, not just their fans, their fucking sporting director Berta, Kroenke and Arteta are litterally all mugging us off. Little bro'ing us.

Jesus literally all you need to do to shut them up is show this

They won fuck all. Until they do stop feeling so inferior. It's embarrassing.

Maddison might be back by the time we sign a new player!
4D Chess. He's using the dimension of time!

You are messing something up.
Spence is 1st choice LB
It’s definitely a “nice to have” signing, but Spence can already rotate if necessary. Udogie is fit now, VDV can play there with Danso at centre back, Ben Davies would be fine there in a lot of games, Gray at a pinch…

If spending on Hincapie put a block on Savinio that is not a win for us. Same if it blocked a creative midfielder.

Brother, I’m really not agreeing with you that it’s a nice to have.

2 seasons in a row we’ve lost Romero and VDV for long spells and it’s fucked our season both times.

As it stands, Danso is our only fit CB who’s good enough to step in

I hate Levy but the reality is that we don’t know what happened with the first two.

It’s implied that Marinaki/Edu threatened MGW and his agent with legal action for leaking the release clause unless he signed an extension. You say “faffing about” but the reality is that the release clause was met. Forest stonewalled it knowing the player was going to stay quiet.

Eze is a lot more complicated but it sounds like we were nowhere near as close as certain ITK’s claim. Arteta told the media that at the last minute Eze called him personally to see if a deal could be done. Hardly what you’d expect to happen when a deal was close. The leaks of us offering Richarlison kind of prove how much BS was floating around at the time.

But yeah, Paz is a straight up “well we tried!” transfer than Levy never had any intention of following through on.
Agree with the first two, but there was a lot of buzz around Paz with his complicated contract, indicating that Como were contemplating cashing in during this transfer window before cheap buy-back clauses kicked in later.

It was surely worth a punt by Spurs, especially in a transfer market with a lot of moving parts. I'm not sure we have any evidence of a lack of intention by Levy. Spurs have the transfer funds and the wages capacity, and, if we had to divine any intention, Levy would like nothing more than a marquee signing.

Aside from the obvious value of the player to the squad, such a signing would partly make up for the disappointments of MGW and Eze, and restore any (exaggerated) reputational injuries, as well as raise our commercial profile.

I'm gonna ask you once; politely... With all due respect.... How old are you?

......I'd just rather go easy on you if you are as young as you come accross.
Older then you think. No offence but you've been pound for pound the most ridiculous poster on here this summer.

You've had a complete nightmare. You had Eze marked off as a done deal. You had Savinho marked off as a done deal. You are a complete jinx.
