Again..... Focus your ire on that part then. The scum could get relegated and it wouldn't push us any closer to the title.

It's not the guaranteed route to success you're insisting either......... You literally just pointed to Man U burning good money after bad... It's even been 8+ years now since CFC last win the EPL despite them relentlessly spending.

The team that's run Pep's City closest has been Liverpool and that was done with smart recruitment and a manager that turned water into wine with players like Henderson, Wijnaldum, a Chelsea-reject and a pair of FBs that combined cost 10m.
Chelsea have won a bloody Champions League in the meantime.

Liverpool didn't run City closest with those players. They finished below us ( I think) in 2018. They started getting close to them, the moment they spent a shit load on Allisson and Van Dijk. Don't try to rewrite history.

We never had a chance with Paz, I said as much before we launched the big bid. Di Marzio, who is close to Paratici said that with Real Madrid controlling his future and want him back that it's very unlikely.

But we proceed to waste time chasing a mythical dragon that we'll obviously never catch. That is absolutely just a PR spin to say we tried.

"Unlikely".... Not impossible.

You are I have no idea how much time was or "wasn't" wasted on Paz.......

We allegedly threw in a 50m bid then followed up with 70m to force the matter, but the player declined...

So be it. Shoot your shot and move on. Nothing suggests it was some drawn out saga.

You're kinda proving my point.

If this is indeed true, well, that's Akliouche off the list as well

£250m net spend so far from Woolwich. Trying to imagine a world where Spurs finish second and Levy decides we need that level of investment to compete. Not saying what Woolwich are doing is right, but at least they're trying. Every window we limit our ceiling to 5th spot, and even that's only if we have luck with injuries and our manager gets the absolute best from everyone.

Last time we finished 2nd we held our star players, but spent little due to our stadium build.

vs

When the scum built their stadium they sold all their stars; laying the ground for 22+ years with an EPL.

Another one we couldn't convince
On a serious note, if it isn't this one. Then who the fuck are we bringing in, I suspect nobody else will come now.
We are going into the season with two games a week with what we have.
But, a season of CL money keeps Enic happy, and they hope Frank can turn water into wine with the squad.
A recipe for disaster is lurking around the corner at some point.

Not sure there is a single reliable Spurs ITK after this window. Bunch of regurgitation
I dunno. I think they  were right about MGW and Eze.
and that's at least a part of the problem. All that public noise alerted too many people.
We as fans love to know what's going on, but I'd bet the club would much rather it was locked down and quiet.

I mean, the unlikely bit being, "hey Nico, would you rather play for Spurs or Real?" Have a bit of cop on and step back and ask yourself, "what would I do?".

Literally one second spent on that deal is time wasted. And you know when they've gone to make a bid, you'd hope that there was a lot of due diligence, tapes studied, data analysed etc. It's not like FM and you just sign a player out of nowhere.

It's a punt on an asset that isn't attainable, so every second wasted, is a waste of time. Don't really get your point. This is a very obvious "Look, we tried" move. Much like Rogers. This is the same as Dybala and Martinez.
