Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You keep talking about the Europa. Mate do you honestly think Woolwich fans care that we won the Europa when they are heading into a new season aiming to win the title and compete seriously in the CL?
Unfortunately I know several gooners and they are still 100% seething at the Europa win!

You only had to look at the gooner fan meltdown online to see what they thought about it.

I'm not sure we should even sell Bissouma or solomon at this rate... Are we going to be able to sign better players to replace them? Clocks ticking and anyone decent is either too expensive or rejecting us. Depressing.
They're deadwood. We won't use them this season, so we might as well get rid. I don't even think we can register them in the Champions League.

My biggest fear as well (outside of signing no one).

Signing someone who we're just trying to get rid of as early as next season or the one after.
And we won't be able to shift them because of their valuation/wages.

And neither El-Kabanoss or PEZ moves the needle for me, we don't need boys we need men.

Come on man, it was obviously a really nice moment given our lack of trophies in the past 20 years but beyond that weekend I doubt any of the big clubs cared outside of Man Utd ofcourse. We want to be in a position where we never get to compete for the Europa League because we're in the premier competition above it.

I blame Vinai for this window. Things were bad before he got here, but this window? It is beyond bad. What changed?

He got here before the end of last season and had enough time to impact SOPs of the club. Well, he certainly is showing a promising start to his Spurs job.

It’s a nice trophy that helps solidify your position as part of “the best of the rest”.

Well that's what i said? I don't think any of the boys being talked about lately are even close to Madders.

We should have been in on Wirtz this summer.

You are drifting from rational to irrational.

Nothing about our club would offer safety or confidence to a player like Wirtz at present. No chance.

I won't suggest for a moment that I know of the qualities of the players who do similar to what Maddison offers, but I struggle to think we could not secure the services of one such type.

If you look at Maddison's physical frailty, the club should have been looking hard at options from the get go and not faffed about.

We have acted in a very amateurish way during this window, to the extent that you might think we were newly promoted as opposed to one of such stature.

And none of this is simply about how much we spend but our preparedness.

Bissouma will come in handy to rotate with Palinha and Bentancur in league games. He's still comfortably better than Gray. Unless we sign a mobile 10 then I'd be very wary of selling Bissouma now
We have Bergvall and Gray to rotate. We have more than enough midfielders to keep Bissouma. I'll be grateful to him for that Europa League run, but it's obvious Frank doesn't fancy his behaviour in the slgihtest.

People doing these diversion tactics and coping mechanisms to make themselves feel better. "Oh Romano is against us", "oh look at you giving credit to Woolwich", 'oh there's not many options in the market".

We have been mugged off and all the anger should be directed at the board. They have absolutely done a number on us(again) and they have zero shame about it.
Totally agree. It doesnt matter what Ornstein or Romano say, who cares? It doesnt matter what happened with Gibbs White, Eze and Hincapie. What matters is the bumbling, ham fisted, amateurish transfer window where with a week to go of the window we've lost 46 g/a from last season from a team that finished 17th. Those 2 players have not been replaced and our very promising manager also wants a centre back. 3 months stumbling around like a piss head in a kebab shop, 7 days left. Its a shambles.
