Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They amount they've spent; according to your prev. posts should see them locked in as contenders tho.... Not outsiders......

Not that I believe it, but I've heard pundits call us "outsiders" today.

Liverpool DIDN'T spend massively...... They smartly built a squad, lucked out on a couple of big sales and injected that money into Allison & VVD. That's not "spin".... That's just more facts.

18/19 - 1 point from EPL title / CL champs
19/20 - EPL winners
20/21 - 17 point gap (outlier)
21/22 - 1 point from EPL title
24/25 - Won league with fuck all trfs.

Regardless; again, I suggest worrying about us rather than the scum's net spend..... It won't get us any nearer or further from the prizes we all ultimately want.
They're contenders for me. Pound for pound, they have the best midfield in the Premier League. They are just kneecapped because they have a shit manager, who's even worse than Legohead. Any competent manager in that Chelsea dugout (Tuchel) and they would've been the biggest contenders to win the bloody title.

As for Liverpool, they did in fact spend massively. Because they didn't just spend on VVD and Allisson in 2018. They also bought Fabinho and Keita for big money. The summer after they didn't spend (they were complete), but them in 2020 Jota and Alcantara arrived to boost that midfield. Season after? Diaz and Konate. After that? Nunez and Gakpo. They have kept improving (or trying to improve) their squad for years now. Notice how I mention only one or 2 players. That's because they spend big on "known quality" instead of our approach of "we'll buy 5 ok players HOPING they turn out good".
It's embarrassing how we've big acting in the market for decades now.

Leeds sign their 10th player of the window , I guess they have shifted quite a few as well . However do these clubs find the time it’s not like buying a pint of milk . Everyday the transfers are complicated defence of Levy gets evermore ludicrous
Even worse when, you are done by your rivals twice in a week.
This to date, has been the worst window in a while.
Still a week to go however, looking very unlikely on any front.

We all need to be careful about the terminology we sometimes use to describe matters related to football.

Don't worry, this coming week will be nothing but hugs 'n' love, sitting under the big oak kissing in the moonlight

Santini is the one who saw it within a few matches , he called it . Nobody took much notice of him , he was right all along

Did he?

Or are people beginning to rewrite history?

He said he fell out with Arneson for a start, didn't mention Levy at all.
Given Arneson wanted Jol and, as it transpired, Jol was by far the better manager, I see no problem with that.
Santini managed 3 wins from his 13 league games. We were boring as fcuk as well as unable to win.

You also can't ignore the fact Santini went to Auxere for his next job, fell out with their chairman and never worked again.

Genuinely seems like our best chance is Paqueta throwing a strop and refusing to play for Potter or something. Then we can give them Bissouma and do a cut price deal

It’s very obvious that any player who’s favoured by their club and doesn’t NEED to sell won’t be coming here for anything less than a huge fee. Actually I think that’s the only chance we get Savinho too, if he kicks off and tells City he wants out.

Neither likely to happen but that’s unfortunately about the best we can do at this stage. We essentially need a club to be forced to sell.
