Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I reckon they'll be a deal for Paqueta, probably involving Bissouma and possibly Solomon as both clubs are desperate and need to be seen to be doing something. Even though neither club will shift the dial much its something they can point too to pissed off fans. That'll be it for us.
Yeah you could be right. Small cash outlay from Levy and a couple of players off the books sounds pretty much up Levy's street. With little if any input from the manager.

The only positive right now is that in one week's time this tortuous affair will be over and done with.

I used to have confidence at this point that the club would have something up it's sleeve, but that died a few years ago, we now know full well that Levy will happily see the squad left woefully short in key areas.

Other clubs do struggle and fail with transfer targets, no other club makes almost every transfer deal they do such pathetically hard work, one at a time drawn out four week affairs are the business as usual for this club. You'd think left backs and attacking midfielders were an endangered species with the way Spurs are struggling to identify any.

The lb spot in particular, would be ideal for one of Lange's supposed speciality punts on a spreadsheet identified kid, but instead we're just gonna go with nobody?

You completely missed my point, being the 9th biggest club in the world and having the psr room we have then we should be able to do all of the above and not choose between one and the other.
If Vuskovic is not ready or goes out on loan then we do need a CH , we all seen what happened last yr when Romero and VDV were out.

Levynomics refers to the state of mind Levy induces with his feeble attempts at big signings to the extent we are almost happy with any signing.

No I really did not miss the point.

Even if there is PSR room and we can do all the deals, in the end of the day ALL THE RESOURCES ARE STILL limited. And that is undeniable fact. Number of spots in the team is limited. Amount of money is limited (yes, in fact for all teams). Human working hours are limited.

So they have to be allocated according to priority. CB is not priority, cause right now we first need a starting winger, not to think what happens if X or Y get injured- that is secondary. Literally our first sub CB (Danso) is much more solid option than our 2nd starting winger next to Kudus. First lets put together strong starting XI before we talk about "what happens if".

It’s going to be Tel / Johnson / Odobert on the LW.

Tel is, always has been, our Son replacement.

We’ll probably try and scramble a cheapo number 10.

No need to look here until September 2nd then.

Nobody whatsoever knows what will happen between now and the end of this window

I think the one likelihood is that it brings significant change of transfer policy, because whatever we want to call our approach., it just seems flawed and incoherent at every level.

And they should be worried about their jobs, all summer to get these positions sorted, and now we are scrambling around.

It's not a 10/10 window - but it's far from a disaster. Spurs have improved the starting 11.

Romero signed a new deal - We all expected him to leave.
Danso is quality rotation at CB.
Kudus looks like a decent first 11 signing.
Palhinha looks like a decent first 11 signing.

We haven't seen enough of Tel to judge him. 30m a lot to pay for a player that isn't first team ready, but if he is given the chance to get some games under his belt, I think we will start to see why Spurs signed him.

Losing Son and Kane was never going to be easy. Spurs aren't able to buy ready-made replacements of that quality - they have to buy young and develop.

Has we slapped £80 million down on the table at the start of the window Villa might have accepted it, so it makes perfect sense for us to do it now as there is little to no chance it gets accepted this late, we are just moving into the "we tried" part of the window, so it won't be long now before we end up with a panic buy
Or Woolwich would have nipped in, bettered the payment terms and signed him instead....

Daniel Levy has reportedly spent the last few hours standing by a vending machine, patiently waiting for it to cough up his change. Sources say he even tried negotiating add-ons and a sell-on clause for the last 20 pence :levywtf:

Good morning my fellow comrades, partnera in misfortune

You cannot look at our work in a vacuum. The PL powerhouses have spend big and strengthen in huge numbers.

All these people poo-pooing Sav and Eze are gonna look pretty dumb when we add Isak too!

:frankthumbs:

If this happened, I would actually buy a genuine 25/26 shirt from the club shop as a "sorry" to the club.

My money is probably safe.

Danso and Tel were January signings.

Only I can’t see who we get as a panic buy

I was relieved to hear Frank say we only want to sign players who will improve the squad. Thats his way of saying he’s not willing to work with the Elliot’s and BEKs that might get thrown his way when Levy can’t do the deals for the top targets.

Essentially we are already at the latter stage Poch vibes where he was asking for players Levy couldn’t sign.
wouldn't sign
