Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

You're so obviously NOT a Spurs fan.

Of course we can buy quality players, the money is there but not the drive nor ambition to.

You're always downplaying the size and potential of OUR club, so fucking obvious.

Spurs can buy decent players - and they have done. But they cannot buy players at the level of prime Son or Kane. Those players only go to top teams.

Given the option, any player will choose City, United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Madrid, Woolwich, Milan, Atletico, Barca, Juventus, PsG, Bayern ahead of Spurs. Then Spurs are left to compete with the likes of Roma, Red Bull, Bayer, Dortmund, inter, Newcastle etc...

The only way to convince elite player that is wanted by top clubs is with $$$$. Stupid salary and bribes for the agent.

Spurs CANNOT buy a Kane replacement. They have to buy a player with potential and develop them. Failing that, you sign an experienced player, with less ability .. eg Solanke.

Madrid, Barca, United etc...earned their reputation by winning time and time again. Spurs have won 1 proper trophy in 40 years - that is not going to attract top players who want to win trophies.

POK just proving even more that he’s on the same grift. Another who’s been fully exposed this summer

I’m not defending any of these pricks. But, it seems we have been so half hearted and so pathetic with our offers that it’s been easy for clubs to turn us down or for the info to be wrong. What agents and people expect us to do hasn’t materialised probably because we haven’t really gone into any deal willing to pay up or with any conviction. Plus there’s no plan too of course.

These super ITKs like Romano are literally taking the piss out of fans. Content creators on youtube, reporters on Sky, ITKs on X are literally making things up and disrupting the market. They can say what they want and fans are expected to believe it (and do believe it) making clubs look stupid. They are influencing the market and creating their own narrative.

I’d say the issue is identifying realistic targets in the first place.

MGW - you could probably give them a pass on this one not foreseeing the BFG meltdown, but they should have had an alternative ready to go.

Savinho - a club with no monetary need to sell and rich owners we’ve pissed off over Kane and Levy being very vocal over the 115 charges. No motivation to sell and if anything would love to lead us on.

Eze - gooner fan and should have been obvious it was being dragged out waiting for the scum to move. Another club chairman who would love to get one over us if the opportunity arose.

Paz - always likely to want to return to Real Madrid and they hold all the cards.

Morgan Rogers - Villa’s prize asset and left too late in the window.

All the right calibre of player as you say, but all transfers extremely difficult for reasons other than fee.

Sure but if Liverpool, Chelsea and worst of all woolwich has that list you know they’d get those deals done, no matter how hard they are to do,

Chelsea is a fake club now really so you can exclude them but Liverpool and woolwich aren’t operating with vastly different resources to us. They are just 20x more competent at doing big deals.

I've decided to ignore this thread couple weeks ago, but this abomination of a transfer window keep dragging me back :frankfacepalm:

It’s entirely clear that the club have no actual plan at this stage of the window. OK, Gibbs White and Eze fell through, those are unlucky, but part of paying a recruitment team all this money is having options and being prepared for a multitude of outcomes.

We are flailing and have no clue who we can get. We can identify talent, fine, but we clearly have zero idea about who’s actually willing to come and if deals are doable. That’s inexcusable.

We are obviously unconnected and unprepared, and I will be shocked if we actually get impact players in by deadline day. I genuinely am prepared for us to get no one.

The party has been a great success , the booze flowed freely , the food was fantastic and Bjorn Again the ABBA tribute act got everyone dancing . Carriages will be in 30 minutes , meanwhile Levy is now looking for a needle to darn his socks before getting dressed to attend the aforementioned party .

When he eventually gets there those still hanging around will blank him , he will have to run around the empty tables hoping to get some leftover Beef Wellington that the fat bloke taking Ozempic couldn’t finish .

Question- As the media and other football clubs can't mock us for not winning anything are they going down the ' Didn't get the player they wanted' route as some kind of banter?
I'm not totally convinced we've even enquired about some of these players.

Would they?!

Liverpool haven’t managed to land Isak or Guehi.
