Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They can't make all of them, which is the point. Both Barca and Leipzig are looking to sell, so we should capitalise on one of them.

Simons would make a perfect 10 for frank but he wants them unfortunately unless he gets fed up of waiting.

Its proper crazy how we can't make ANY deals happen when we have CL and glaring holes in a couple of positions in our team.

Im trying to hold the line until the deadline passes because right now things look so bad it can't be true, something must surely happen

It was all smoke and mirrors... Levy trying to convince us he had changed but we will be spoon fed a load of bollocks about how the market is difficult and unsustainable levels of spend by our rivals... we are playing a long game hoping they will implode but lets face it, he's been saying that for over 10 years and here we are... Chavs are spending 300m a year, now Woolwich are and even Man U without Europe are dropping 200m. Bin dippers about to spend 130m on one player after spending 110m on one player. Even fucking promoted teams are showing more ambition than we are. Levy has beat us within an inch of our lives. We don't have any fight left. Protests are like water off a ducks back. He doesn't give a fuck so long as the asset increases in value. He's basically killed the club and desecrated on the body for good measure.

The only truth is the version we wish to believe. It's us, as know it all fans who are saying we should sign Paz .

Since the start of the 2024 summer window, so 15 months and not including loans we've signed 3 senior players over the age of 21. Solanke, Danso and Kudus.

As a line of complaint isn't this a bit moot considering the amount of people raging about us not signing Sav & Paz (who once again are 20) ?

(But yeh, fwiw; that was actually my concern about both.......)

You don't rebuild a team with 28 year olds mate.

Off the top of my head, Vic, Udogie, Kuku, Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Tel, DJ, have all been positive additions to the squad and all have featured (aside from Kulu, and Udogie) in two excellent PL games so far this season.

We also have several players coming through.

The future of the team is very healthy and we now have a very good coach and manager, plus a set of coaches all n the same page.

Had our worst ever window after the guy fronts up the camera and says he wants to win the Premier league. Have to kind of admire it

It's not our "worst ever" trf window.

No players is worse.
Ndombele window is worse.
.....Arguably the covid (Bale & Reg) window where the longer-term highlights proved to be PEH & Doherty was worse too.

That's 3 of the last 6 summers.

We should seek a double deal for Mainoo and Garmacho, if for no other reason that one or both will score when we play them, which woupd most likely necessitate purchase over loan.

Maybe the seeming lack of flollow-up interest in the latter player from clubs round Europe have quelled the arrogance, but he is a good player in my book. Mainoo could be a string acquisition as well.

Garnacho only wants Chelsea (apparently). Chelsea literally have a whole market on hold because they announced that they wanted them. Everything has to wait for those cunts.

They can't sign a back-up FB?

Don't be silly; that's easier than the deals we've already done this summer.

1. They shouldn’t sign anyone to be a back up, especially not when we finished 17th. Every player that comes in should be pushing to start.

2. No, they clearly can’t do deals at this level anymore. This window is honestly the worst since late Poch and I genuinely think they believed it was going to be a big one. They just can’t achieve that at this level.

we have to get a LW in before window closes, its by far our weakest area now. we can get by without a 10, even though one would be nice. a lack of quality at LW will cost us though.
We already did, we spent £40m on a LW earlier this window.

I said it the moment he was signed: Mathys Tel is our Heung-Min Son replacement. Levy doesn’t sanction that fee for a backup.

Only problem is he’s completely awful and is so bad he immediately needs to be recruited over.

Yep ridiculous move.

I wonder if there would be penalties to breaking the contract and bringing him back?

Probably not an option as we’d lose credibility when setting up future loans, but it’s looking very poor planning considering where we are now.

I can't remember the timeline, but if he was loaned out AFTER the Maddison injury it's a shocker AND it makes it less explicable if we had to excuse any loan cancellation.

If it was before the JM injury then that's our out in terms of saving face for future loans.

18 minutes in the chap says their balance is all wrong and the have seven number 10’s and no number 8’s, so is anyone good enough there we could raid United for?

Is Kobbie Mainoo a 10 as I thought he was more a number 8 in the Sarr mould?

Bruno, Cunha and Mount (kinda)..........

Dunno who the other 5 are supposed to be:

Good luck with selling that sensible idea in here.

Most in here hang on every Twitter, fan account, oversea journos and SKY Sports last words, none who have a fucking clue, and certainly on Spurs who over the past five odd seasons have kept transfer info very tight.

You don't think we were in for Paz?

We had ITK that Paratici was in Italy trying to do a deal for him, and then lo and behold, which journalist starts tweeting about us talking to Como? That's right. Di Marzio, the one who is buddies with Paratici.

Like Hincapie, we tracked him for two years. O'Keefe said he was our top target in Defence. We get rejected by him as he wants Woolwich, so the club leaks to a few journalists that we weren't interested to save face, because we can't have another public rejection just days after Eze.

Why would anybody pay attention to a Como director when he says nobody has bid? Clubs do that all the time.

There are many ways we could have made a bid or informal offer, Paratici could just say in a meeting we'll give you 50 million. It obviously never got far because of the complications, so Como may be accurate by saying they haven't had a formal bid. But we could certainly have made offers.

I do agree we shouldn't treat every rumour as factual, but some people slating sources of info because they don't like what they hear is childish.

Anyway, the club is clearly scrambling around with a week to go, shocking state of affairs.

Who is asking for only 28 year olds? You need a healthy mix. There seems to me to be some undercurrent with the wage bill. We thought last summer was an anomaly but clearly not.

I also like our manager but its been a diabolical window and a smallish squad lacking quality will catch up with us when the fixtures come thick and fast and a few injuries hit. I think the manager deserves better. I'd wager he didnt give up his comfort zone at Brentford for nothing, there must have been a discussion about targets and its pretty difficult to believe this is what he was promised.
