This isn't what's happening. It doesn't matter how well we have started we went ten unbeaten under a complete clown. The state of the squad is utterly precarious and only willfully stupid or people in denial think otherwise. This is a cumulative coming home to roost of poor transfer strategy going back half a decade. We dont make major additions to arrest the decline we are in trouble. That is what people who follow the football team are exercised about.

Nah.... Will just mean they can have him now, but payment terms don't kick in next summer.

Loan + Obligation = Just means deferred payment terms.
Loan + Option = Essentially means; try before you buy.

The latter being why the mooted Gil to Girona deal makes no sense with one year left....... It's the last year of his contact.... They just need to decline the option and they can sign him as a free agent anyway.
 
To be fair, I think there are a lot of things going right. They got the coach right, they have a structure in the front office that has some accomplished people in it, and they are using an up to date approach to data analysis. What Spurs still have to overcome is a perception problem. We just aren't the club the big transfer targets want to be at yet. Frank is building something good and we can become that attractive destination. I just wish in the meantime Levy would back away from his role in negotiations. His style just isn't a good fit for the market today, if it ever was.

Yes the player is keen on Chelsea but I doubt it’s impossible to win him over. For starters he’d be a key player for us. The same cannot be said for Chelsea with the 7383 players they’ve bought this summer.

Depending on who you believe these days, Spurs approached Xavi twice this summer. And you guessed it. He said "no."
 
So due to uefa rules Chelsea have to show as much going out as they have coming in, thats the problem they are facing and the delay to the simons and garnacho deals. They also now interested in Lopez who is cheaper that simons.
To make it work Chelsea need to get nkunku and Jackson out along with any others for roughly the same amount.

We can only hope that they can't make the numbers work and Lopez ends up being a fallback option to simons as hes cheaper.

Im sure they will find a dodgy way around it but we may just be hanging around on this one.
