Necessary but a bit sad. Highest ceiling CM since Dembele when we signed him.
He's very talentend, indeed, but something is wrong with him. I remember his first games, under Ange, where he played like prime Dembele, then got two red cards and never was the same again. I wonder if he was instructed to play in another way, but definitely something happened.

As I was saying to someone earlier in thread, no point having a plan if the execution is utterly awful. But for this one, silence is not a bad a thing, if it wasn't happening, or if the had been a no. We would have known by now.

Had a decent game in ten, and fortunately for us, 2/3 of his better games were in the Europa semi and final itself.

The first two games have given some a false sense of security. Once October hits and we are playing two games a week. Kudus is injured or rested, Richie gets his usual injuries, our attack looks pathetic. Tel and Odobert come in and what? The level of quality drops huge levels.
It’s like they never learn from previous seasons. We can’t maintain a high level of performance playing twice a week with our current squad.
We need two quality attacking additions and one CB at the minumum

We have a worse squad now than most of those, the other top 6 have bought every available decent player this year, we lost a legend and we finished 17th last season. Worst ever window

Meh he was wildly inconsistent and not reliable at all. Put in far more poor performances than good ones. Talent was there but mentally he wasn’t top quality, won’t miss his brain farts and hospital passes.
Still, thanks for Bilbao and the beginning of Ange’s first season he was quality until that stupid sending off at Luton
