Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Ok but come on bro... no 10 ok i can at least see that narrative being mentioned.... but we are not frantically looking for his replacement, one link for a very expensive, huge talent that would allow Tel and Odobert to get mins without the pressure clearly being put on them by some.
If we add Savinho, or any additional attacker beyond the needed 10, there isn't going to be room on the bench for Tel. A player we signed THIS SUMMER for 30 million pounds.

That's a bad allocation of resources. The club operated with an assumption of how committed and excited we would be for this player based on a manager they had already sacked and apparently a technical director who might also have one foot out the door?

- Max Aarons didn't look good..... He was pony in the EPL...... Once the champo hype faded it was over.
- Lampty was quick and that's about it.

Both young players with massive price-tags (esp. when you consider inflation!) despite doing fuck all, that at most were a flash in the pan; yet if the foot-stompers had their way we would have signed.

Just some perspective given the "Tel is the worst 40m of all time" narrative.
But they didn't cost that. And Lamptey was very good that season, he was a much bigger attacking threat from full-back than Tel has been as a forward.

And of course players can look good somewhere else or in another league, come to the PL and be poor. But the fact that I, and many others are so pissed off, is that we have him a trial to see what he can do. I wasn't expecting much, because I didn't want him even on loan after seeing him for Bayern, but holy shit, I was surprised by how bad he was. I assumed after the loan ended that'd be that, as he really was just awful, but nope. First team money on someone who was genuinely useless.

I have no problem with him, not his fault, I'd be delighted if he proved me wrong, but there's nothing there. He shown nothing on loan, and yet they still signed him.

Lange is losing his job, clearly, I called it as gardening leave when there was no return date, and if you don't think this transfer had anything to do with it, you're beyond help.

I’m genuinely not angry with Tel. He’s done nothing wrong

Likewise...

Some need to cool the vitriol and excessive critcism though.... The lad was racially abused 2 weeks ago; do peeps really wanna help gas up those kind of cunts?

Happens all the time. Bayern took a punt, decided he wasn't allowed that, punted him on us for an inflated fee that we'll never see value in.

There's no one here that can truthfully tell you they see a player there, he's just so so bad. He already needs loaned out, and his time here will likely be a series of loans until we let him leave for free.

I haven't seen a less impactful player in a very, very long time.
N'Dombele say's hi!

Tel won't be loaned out.

His playing time in Munich was limited because of the players in front of him.

Let's see what Frank makes of him, after all he approved the signing.

Paratici is a scout. He made his name as chief scout operating under Beppe Marotta at Sampdoria then Juventus.

He's wearing bigger trousers since then though.... The structure he set up here last time had a head of scouting beneath him. I'd hope we return to that....

We need Fab focused on vision & deal-making so that Levy & Vinai can ponce about on other matters.

Makes sense Levy would go crawling back to Don Fab.

Dipped his toe into the PL experienced market and shelled out 65m for Solanke only for Frank to bench him. The best he could manage with another 110m was Johnson and Richarlison.
Publicly humiliated by Forest, Palace and the scum.

Levy has burned all bridges with his PL contemporaries. They all bully him and send photoshopped pics of him in the WhatsApp.

Going and pillaging broke European clubs for their cast offs is way more his style.
£65m for Solanke still gives me nightmares. That's a £30m player on a good day.

I've seen every game he's played here. I've seen lots of games at Bayern and he didn't exactly look amazing. I didn't even want them to sign him on loan, based off those observations.

You're absolutely full of shit, continuously. You make snarky, snide comments and you're always off base and you say absolutely nothing while thinking you're smart.

What's so great about him? Please tell me, since I'm obviously so misinformed and pale in comparison to your superior footballing mind?

I support the club, not the players, and certainly not the chairman, as you seem to.

Bore off, mate.
He played just 14 games for Munich under Kompany, 8 as sub.

Season before he scored 10 goals in forty games, 11 as sub.

He's an ever present in the French side from under seventeens to the current under twenties.

Whether you support the Chairman or not both Ange and now Frank rate him, and i would take their opinion over yours any day of the week.

The thing Paratici has a decorated history of is making individual deals for individual players, both in terms of the eye for the talent and also the nous for getting the deal done. He has been an innovator in deal structures for years, which caught Levy's attention in the first place, he sees a kindred spirit there.

As the big-picture vision-setter though, Paratici's record is handing Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey free agent contracts double what they were worth (as a "creative" financial trick), sacking Max Allegri and trying to make a manager of Andrea Pirlo, seeing the Juventus dynasty collapse, and getting convicted of accounting fraud for good measure.

The appeal of the Paratici-Levy duo is that Levy trusts Paratici to negotiate the financials of transfers with a degree of independence he never has for any other subordinate. And the big picture club strategy (and, critically, hiring and firing managers) will of course always be Levy's personal bailiwick at Spurs.

It lets both guys play to their strengths and limits their weaknesses. It actually worked in practice, not just in theory.

Transfer departments in 2025 are large organizations, there will be extensive personnel working beneath Paratici or Lange or whoever.

But Levy and Paratici AND Lange is too many cooks in the kitchen, Lange and Paratici are discordant, independent voices with totally overlapping remits.
