Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

He played just 14 games for Munich under Kompany, 8 as sub.

Season before he scored 10 goals in forty games, 11 as sub.

He's an ever present in the French side from under seventeens to the current under twenties.

Whether you support the Chairman or not both Ange and nkw Frank rate him, and i would take their opinion over yours any day of the week.
He came on largely when games were already one for Bayern against very weak opposition.

How many players do we see go through all the underage groups and just fade away? You're talking most of them.

Stats say he's not very good as well.

You do you. You'll not see too much of him because he's 3rd in the LW area behind a RW and another kid, who unlike Tel, has shown that he has something about him, and cost nearly half. If Tel doesn't go out on loan, he's going to see very little football. Because he's the worst of what we have in the squad. And if we do sign a Savinho (lol) he's not going to get a European squad place.

He's been absolutely atrocious since he's been here. Shown absolutely nothing. I don't give a rats ass what he did at Bayern.

He came here, stank the place up and they spent an outrageous amount of money on him. He did nothing in that loan period that suggested there was a quality player, nada.

If he was that great, why were Bayern more than happy to shave off a significant amount of money off the fee? He's a liability, shouldn't be sniffing first team football right now.
I probably wouldn't have made it permanent, but that's based purely on his first team performances that I (and you) have seen.

People behind the scenes must have seen something else.

Youtube highlights make Clinton N'Jie look like the 2nd coming of Maradona.
Find me youtube highlights that make Gregor fucking Rasiak look good.

You talked about over-run and its costs, which is a different thing.

There was a lot of resistance from Haringey, which had to be overcome. The detour via Stratford was a result of Haringey intransigence. The 2008/09 financial crisis and its aftermath had major effects on the construction industry and the ability to raise finance. One major turning point was the 2011 riots, which started in Tottenham, and sparked efforts for much overdue regeneration, and then the doors opened for Spurs. There was the whole business of land acquisition and Archway Sheet Metal being very awkward and causing delays. But that had a beneficial side effect enabling stadium redesign, which was a very good thing.

I'm sure there must be a narrative out there that wants to blame ENIC/Levy for all of the above.
My point remains, nothing about the stadium build was done any more efficiently than our transfer business.

But they didn't cost that. And Lamptey was very good that season, he was a much bigger attacking threat from full-back than Tel has been as a forward.

And of course players can look good somewhere else or in another league, come to the PL and be poor. But the fact that I, and many others are so pissed off, is that we have him a trial to see what he can do. I wasn't expecting much, because I didn't want him even on loan after seeing him for Bayern, but holy shit, I was surprised by how bad he was. I assumed after the loan ended that'd be that, as he really was just awful, but nope. First team money on someone who was genuinely useless.

I have no problem with him, not his fault, I'd be delighted if he proved me wrong, but there's nothing there. He shown nothing on loan, and yet they still signed him.

TBF, it doesn't come across like that.

Lange is losing his job, clearly, I called it as gardening leave when there was no return date, and if you don't think this transfer had anything to do with it, you're beyond help.

Just a straw-man swipe really......

Whatever Lang's fate it's a bit more layered than "you made Tel" perm ergo you're sacked".... Levy could have just pulled the plug beforehand and saved 30m if that was the case.

....I'd hazard any sacking would be strongly linked to the lack of activity or solutions at play since the MGW/Eze deals went bust; but yeh, if Frank doesn't fancy Tel then sure that won't reflect well either.

I'm not saying it justifies the price, but there was in fact mega hype around Tel two years or so ago

This isn't just some kid, it was supposed to be THE kid.

I think hes one of those players where you're just waiting for it to 'click'. It could be a moment, it could be through help of coaches idk but I just get that feeling.

He doesn't lack in effort and he has a strong mentality so i think he will make it.
