Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

If this has been leaked by the club, I wouldn’t be surprised if no one else is signed before the window closes.

I really do feel like it would shock even the most die hard glass half full Spurs fans if we were to get a true glimpse of how much of a mess it is behind the scenes at the club.

Its been known for quite a few months, once his ban period was over. He has been working as a consultant for us the whole time his contract for that gig ends in Sept, there after many journos wrote he will cmeback into the fold in official capacity, the club worked hard to make sure he did as he was on the verge of the main dof at Ac Milan, we must of made assurances to him.

I think hes one of those players where you're just waiting for it to 'click'. It could be a moment, it could be through help of coaches idk but I just get that feeling.

He doesn't lack in effort and he has a strong mentality so i think he will make it.
Catch 22 at the moment.
I wouldn't trust him with any responsibility. He needs to be playing when there's no pressure and he can start to feel like he belongs on the pitch again.
Problem is, we're in the CL this season, so less opportunity there. Gotta hope we don't get Chelsea or Liverpool away in the league cup 3rd round at this rate.

To suggest that you can 'tell a player after five minutes' is total bollocks mate.

How many loans did Kane have, Walker and Rose both went out on loan before hitting the big time.

Kane to Orient as i remember.

Where was your post clamouring for us to buy Kudus, Udogie, Micky or Bergvall?

If you can 'tell a player after five minutes' apply for a job here, you will likely get an immediate start.

Avenida de Concha Espina, 1, 28036 Madrid, Spain
of course you can tell a player after 5 mins, this tel has had over 6 months! odobert hasn't done much but at least you can see something with him, he needs more aggression and sharpness in his game, but the fundamentals of being a footballer are natural with him, hes smooth on the ball. tel is not!!! if you cant see that then thats your problem, theres nunances going straight over your head!

Hasn't Paratici been working as a consultant for Spurs this whole time? His official return has been in the making for a while. I’m not even sure what difference it would make or why there is so much conjecture / fake news on others at the club like Lange.

The thing Paratici has a decorated history of is making individual deals for individual players, both in terms of the eye for the talent and also the nous for getting the deal done. He has been an innovator in deal structures for years, which caught Levy's attention in the first place, he sees a kindred spirit there.

As the big-picture vision-setter though, Paratici's record is handing Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey free agent contracts double what they were worth (as a "creative" financial trick), sacking Max Allegri and trying to make a manager of Andrea Pirlo, seeing the Juventus dynasty collapse, and getting convicted of accounting fraud for good measure.

Was this not the period that the club seemed to relinquish the proverbial 'vision' to a sponsorship-linked drive to get Ronaldo in which meant the likes of Rabiot & Ramsey were just cheap deals to help plug gaps left behind cos Ron was so expensive......?

The appeal of the Paratici-Levy duo is that Levy trusts Paratici to negotiate the financials of transfers with a degree of independence he never has for any other subordinate. And the big picture club strategy (and, critically, hiring and firing managers) will of course always be Levy's personal bailiwick at Spurs.

It lets both guys play to their strengths and limits their weaknesses. It actually worked in practice, not just in theory.

Basically what I said we needed.... No idea what "bailiwick" is though.

Transfer departments in 2025 are large organizations, there will be extensive personnel working beneath Paratici or Lange or whoever.

But Levy and Paratici AND Lange is too many cooks in the kitchen, Lange and Paratici are discordant, independent voices with totally overlapping remits.

Previously we had Levy > Fab > Gabbianni (sp?)......... Head of Scouting; call it what you will..... The more people at ground level and crunching data; the more the need for someone else to mange them and let Fab be the brains and deal-maker at the helm.

I'm not sure what you're disagreeing with tbh.

TBF, it doesn't come across like that.

Just a straw-man swipe really......

Whatever Lang's fate it's a bit more layered than "you made Tel" perm ergo you're sacked".... Levy could have just pulled the plug beforehand and saved 30m if that was the case.

....I'd hazard any sacking would be strongly linked to the lack of activity or solutions at play since the MGW/Eze deals went bust; but yeh, if Frank doesn't fancy Tel then sure that won't reflect well either.
Everything you don't agree with is 'Straw-man'. Looks at his record, the signings he's made and the money spent on them, and it's beyond grim reading. Tel and Solanke costing upwards of £100m+ is malpractice.

I'd love to be proven wrong with him, I just don't see any redeemable qualities. Everytime I ask the likes of you why you think he's going to be great, I get absolutely nothing back. I come with data, the fact Bayern were happy to let him go, and to let him go for €20m less after 6 months tells it's own story.

He's not going to play meaningful minutes and of we sign Savinho (we won't) he's 4th on the LW pecking order, and one isn't even a LW. Odobert hasn't played too much more than him, but has shown that he at least has ability. I don't see that with Tel.

I always miss the days when Paratici used to sit with the lads at the bench and watch the match with so much passion. He gets it. He will want to improve the squad. He sees it.

I can only imagine Lange sobbing at pantry because the coffee machine ran out of latte.

There'll be no more signings.
