Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Neither am I. I think that Europa League final hattrick is living too fresh on everyone's memory and the reason he's become overrated. His spells at Everton, Leicester and Fulham were all very unconvincing. He's suited to being the main man at Atlanta but how much can you read into that! Very different to playing in the prem every week where teams will mostly be sitting against us. Is he a huge upgrade on Brennan Johnson who's goal numbers are just as good if even better? I'm not convinced.

Savinho, Semenyo, Ndiaye would all be far better picks but probably all out of reach now. Maybe Lookman is the best of the rest but its so underwhelming!

Wait, what are we doing here? :vicarioconfused:

22 goals in 44 matches last season (last 3 seasons he's hit 20/18 and 22 in all comps) 15 in 31 in Serie A last season and 5 in 7 in the CL - goals against Napoli, Milan, Roma. Real last seasonfor fucking Atalanta - guy turns up in big matches and he's in his peak!

This thread is absolutely cooked man :roflmao:

Is Rogers actually the level we need? I admit to not regularly watching him but was really not impressed with his goals last season - the majority are just jammy loose balls in the box. Which is a skill, but not always repeatable.

It's not like Villa are a powerhouse - they have yet to score in 2 matches.
I think he's really good but he's not a Maddison type playmaker. More a physical player with an eye for goal. He has brilliant ball control too tbf. He's a unique enough profile - don't think I'd call him a 10 and villa tend to nearly play him as a second striker or just behind Watkins. so he plays as a 10 but he's not your typical creative 10. He's more of a box crasher.

I'd be wary of Lookman coming back to the prem. Just think he's a bit overrated.

Hes started very poor this season but I think he is the type of player we are targeting for 10 position. Strong powerful runners/ball carriers rather that a fanciful tricky 10.

Rogers/simons also ball carriers/dribblers and MGW a powerful strong running 10 also.

Just have to hope levy feels pushed into really going for it big time these last few days. Right now hes seriously sabotaging our season. No way we cope with pl and cl with our current squad.

Simons to Chelsea (much like Garnacho to Chelsea*) has been "done" for ages but just not happened

So seems like, with the window closing, theres opportunity to see if something can be done

*Garnacho - another one I suspect we'll be in for. HG, relatively cheap, high potential upside....

...only real issue I have with him is, everytime I see him, I think he looks like a lesbian. And not the sexy kind

Nah, our lack of squad depth and amateur medical department did that.

I’m going to keep fighting that corner for Frank’s sake because if we don’t add depth to this squad and Frank is expected to stay in the Carabao and CL, we will get the same injury issues again. I don’t want to start seeing another coach thrown under the bus for this club operating like amateurs.
I'm not so sure we will, Frank already rotated at the first opportunity against Burnley, I think we'll see a lot more preservation of the players by rotating before they get knackered.

I expect there will be a lot of rotation between Porro, Spence, and Udogie once Udogie is back fit, in order to keep all 3 both fresh but also up to speed.

Might not be enough to keep us competitive in all competitions, but should hopefully prevent a mass breakdown of the squad.

So as we are getting closer to the window Slamming shut, we are now working on deals that are considered very hard to pull off? I think its all bullshit, we have shut up shop so to speak and are not letting anything get out to the press, I think we get 2 more in but it won't be anyone we are linked to in the press

Quote possibly.

I think we have been utterly spooked by the actions im this window, but equally think (hope) like you that we will get 2 in.

And one presumes because Frank approves, which I think is the crucial element.

True, but being bald myself that statement would hit a little too close to home for my liking

Cracking Up Lol GIF
Ah, that explains why you also decided against mentioning his micropenis. :sneaky:

I'm not worried about lookman he's a wide forward who is 100% better than Jonson and Tel anyone living in the past of his formative years is being silly. The player is better than that now. But we need an elite winger to prevent doubling up in Kudus and a pure Ten who can receive the ball deep break lines and find a pass. That's the priority. I know nothing about the French kid but higher ceiling or not we need shop ready footballers now not more projects. Paqueta probably improves a is a pretty easy fix but it's difficult because the optics for West ham.

I think our inactivity is partly because Frank has said he only wants first-team ready players. Our sights seem much higher than last year (Eze, Savinho, Hincapie, etc). Last year we bought kids + Solanke.

Standard saying today Dragusin isnt back until late this year and he'll obviously take a couple of months to get upto speed. Really dont think you can rely on him until February at best. So 6 defenders (not counting Takei as yet) to cover 4 positions for 6 months is clearly insane.

Yeah it’s not like both of our last 2 PL seasons have been destroyed by injuries at CB..,,

Oh wait

There WAS rotation early last year.

Frank will rotate better in terms of tactics but purely on numbers, we are headed straight to the same problem

I find that once they get down to the scissoring, they're pretty much all the sexy kind...
