Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Towards the end of the Inside Spurs video I posted earlier, Jay Bothroyd said Brentford identified squad requirements and transfer targets 18 months in advance!

Could go some way to explaining Thomas Frank’s comments earlier in the window!

:dembelelol:

Well yeh... He'd been with them 8 years; things are able to get more systematic/streamlines over such a long time.

TBF..... There seems to be a lot of cases where we're scoping players over longer periods of time..... Doesn't mean you end up pulling the trigger and/or the deal is appealing to all sides.

BJ, Tel , Maddison, Eze all recent examples. Other's I've no doubt forgot.

Huge if I know, but if we were to get Savinho over the line, and any one of those number 10s on the list, it will be a fantastic end to the window.

Xavi Simons would be the top choice, but even someone like Paqueta or the Monaco kid will transform our attack.

A good CB like Hincapie would have been a dream window, but hopefully there is someone else good up our sleeve.

It's the hope that kills you.

Anyone else swelling up with immense pride at how sustainable our club is ?
LOL.

Levy got owned by Neville in that podcast actually. Neville gets hate on here, but I think he's ok. Levy came across as deluded and of course (FWIW) highly un-telegenic with that coupon and those awful mannerisms he has.

I'm sure Daniel will be right, and all the clubs spending more on transfers and wages will be out of business in a few years, or at least relegated.

Levy’s biggest football failure is actually not even a personal one imo.

His issue is he’s incredibly shite at reading and picking talent, and he has no clue what he actually wants. He is constantly conned into hiring the wrong person, listening to the wrong advisors, trusting the wrong agents and people. Our strategy is a whirlwind of wild swings from one philosophy to another because he has zero personal conviction. He has poor judgment and I think it stems from being a bit of a weirdo who lacks people skills
There is one fatal flaw that he has which is all his own. The fact that he has to win the deal no matter what. Which means he loves moving the goal posts when it comes to transfers. The fact is because he always feels like we have to have a deal we felllike we are shopping in the Transfer Market Version of TK Maxx.

Positive news lads.

Trix on SC has said the following re Savinho
" already know what the replies are going to be so no point @-ing me because I'm only passing on, but we still think this is one is a goer."

Get your donations in now.

Suspect this positive post is because once the window shuts and we've signed fuck all players the donations will stop so they are trying to get as much as they can before Monday evening

Just to be sure.... You paid to get behind their paywall for this gem, yeh?

So what happens in November/December when we’re playing mid week and cups and the squad picks up injuries?

We literally don’t have enough warm bodies at fullback or AM, we comically somehow have less depth than last year.

We need at the very least someone. Even if it’s just a loan, a #10 is an absolute necessity. Not signing one would be catastrophic malpractice

We need quality; not bodies.

Look at the size of our squad list already!!!

Why is he sitting on the lap of the shifty dodgy little bloke , I can only see half his face but I’d know the prick anywhere even with the Brian May haircut

Yeah. He's a guy who obviously is clever (in a one-dimensional way) and works very hard, but has huge blindspots and the ownership structure of THFC, and lack of any checks on his authority has meant that we see the results of both his abilities and his limitations.
