Transfers The Summer Transfer Edging Thread 2025

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Chelsea look like they are wrapping up the Garnacho signing.

What is the betting that Romano will tweet at some point this evening, Chelsea here we go on Garnacho, and will then say "Rumours of Spurs in for Simons, wide of the mark, player only wants Chelsea, Chelsea will make it happen soon"

I was optimistic earlier for some deluded reason, but now Savinho deal is dead, yeah, this window is a fucking disaster.

Horror show continues for this front office.

Blind leading the blind
It's a case of treading water, keep the revenue rolling in so that the valuation of the club can either grow or not dip. Nothing more.

This is an investment, not a football club. Can't see that, get your head out of your ass.

Oh, and he also played a significant amount of minutes for City.

As someone else mentioned, every player on the pitch for us in our comfortable 2-0 win at the Etihad was a transfer purchase in the last 5 years.

Whereas here's the best XI of acquisitions the 5 years prior to that:

Gazzaniga
Aurier Sanchez Rodon Reguilon
Hojbjerg Wanyama Sissoko
Moura Llorente Bergwijn
Are we supposed to be happy because players on the pitch today are better than those mentioned the 5 years prior?

Yes they are better majority are still a shot in the dark and way of the Mark of clubs like Liverpool, Woolwich and City. I want signings that compare to the Top6 and not to our past failures.

That is the very first time City have held onto a player who clearly wants to leave.

It shows you that even City can't find talent and are slightly less appealing (Rodrygo) to potential targets.

I just hope we have not been holding onto City folding, although I also think this says more about Guardiola's loosening grip. I say watch this space with him this season.

We should NOT be paying 70 million for a player who can't get into anyone's first team, so desperation apart, I dont see this as the worst as long as we do add quality to the squad.
Remember all the people crying that City were just giving us an unreasonable number? I suspect they'll be quiet today.

They clearly love the player and don't want to lose him, as expected. His transfer fee to City (a fraudulent one), shouldn't have come into any of your thinking.

Took less time than I expected

But the player apparentlyvwants to leave and your comment on valuation needs to be explained, so I understand thev ist of your post.

Guardiola has always said players can move on if they don't want to play play for him, subject to s fee being agreed. Clearly that has changed.
