The whole thing about us having positive talks with Paqueta's agent doesn't mean anything to me. The player being interested in leaving West Ham for us is not the obstacle. Doing a deal with West Ham is the obstacle. And they're not selling their 2 most gifted players to us in the same window when their fans are getting this irate. I was stunned they did it to us once.

[Fabrizio on YT] Man City told Tottenham that Savinho isn't for sale despite them offering more than €70m euros. Spurs had new contact today with Paqueta's agent, he's an option being considered. Spurs also remain interested in Xavni Simons but won't advance whilst Chelsea are still involved

I think it could have been better, but certainly nowhere near an utter failure. Two experienced, talented players that solve problems we’ve had, straight into the first team. Three youngsters, two of whom we have very high hopes for and another that is rated, but an unknown.
Having some of the squad dreck still hanging around is not ideal and obviously more first team quality through the door would have benefitted us massively, but not a failure overall.
With savinho looking unlikely, and Simons again probably not coming to us.
It does make you wonder who are we going to be to get, looking like a missed opportunity at the moment.
Or, sneak a few performance enhancing drugs into their unwitting players and ohhhh soooo regrettably having to fire them

Delighted with Kudus and Palhinha, but it's nowhere near enough. There was a huge opportunity this summer to properly back Frank. He's failed to do it.
Also puts paid to the idea that players are only looking for Champions League teams.
Sure, not enough to win the league, or anything else, come to that. But to improve on a dismal league season, it is. Makes us stronger than we were, so not a complete failure.
If this is a plan, I do get it. Big risk to spend hundreds of millions on backing a new manager, until you can see what he’s capable of over a run of at least a few months. I’m not suggesting it is a plan, by the way, it’s as likely that it isn’t and just been a fuckup instead.
They always sell when the player wants to leave, as long as the money is right. If Levy had offered £60m a month ago the player would be ours already. But that’s not how he operates.
